There is a large garden outside of the house with furniture so the house provides excellent areas for socialising both indoors and outside.
Two of the bedrooms and the hobby room are off the entry were you enter the house and the other four are further inside the house on a long hallway. All the rooms are very spacious. On the hallway you can also find the loundry room which has a washing machine and a dryer.
We returned from Iceland on 29th October 2016, And I have to say we have all completely fallen in love with Iceland. What a place.
The house is 15 minutes outside Reykjavik and is set near to one of the main roads giving you good access to Reykjavik and the Golden circle etc. 10mins drive from nearest Supermarket. It's lovely and spacious and set within a small farm, you step out the door and are immediately surrounded by amazing views (see pics, which were all taken around the house) Jona greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome throughout the week, knocking on our door when the Northern Lights started and advising us on places to visit etc.
The house itself is comfortable and spacious and full of an eclectic mix of artwork both contemporary and older and family photo's. The beds were comfortable and each room is large. One large bathroom at the rear of the house has a steam sauna and jacuzzi built in and the main bedroom has ensuite shower. There is another smaller shower room at the front of the house.
The kitchen is well equipped, with dishwasher, fan oven, coffee machine and a good amount of plates etc.
The house is fantastically warm, and has a great drying room for those wet clothes at the end of a days waterfall viewing or whatever.
You'll enjoy it here, it's a lovely place. The only two slightly cautionary things we should say are:
There's a river out the back, about 25-30m from the house which is beautiful, but there's no health and safety in Iceland, coming from the UK where everything seems to have a barrier or a warning there are no barriers or fences, anywhere in iceand, which we loved, but if you have small children, you'll need to make them aware of the danger, its deep and very cold.
It's set quite close to the main road (about 50-70 metres) which has its busy spells, we didn't care because it was freezing and we stayed inside in the evenings, except for staring at the Northern Lights, but in the summer time if you wanted a BBQ or whatever and car noise is annoying to you, then it may get on your nerves a bit.
Overall, we had a great stay and we would definitely go go back. You'all love it and we thouroughly recommend it.

Fabulous house a few miles from Reykjavik, a home from home.
My family returned from Iceland yesterday, February 20th 2016.
I couldn't wait to tell you about the wonderful house we stayed in. It was situated in the countryside a few miles from Reykyavik, which was lovely, we woke up to snow every morning.
There was plenty of room in the house for everyone to have their own space. My grandchildren especially liked the games room with table tennis table.
The kitchen was so well equipped, as this is a family home Jona, the owner has everything there that you would need, she made sure there was milk, coffee and tea for our arrival, plus the cupboard was full of little extras you need like salt, pepper, sauce - little things that you don't want to be bothered buying from scratch.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning - 2am so Jona left the house open and the keys inside, she lives nearby when the house is rented. We met Jona later that day, she is a lovely lady, she showed us how to work her coffee machine etc.
Later that week on a clear night we arrived back from a day out and was preparing a meal when there was a knock on the door. Jona's daughter had come to tell us that the Northern Lights were above the house, that is one of the benefits of staying in the countryside, no light pollution.
We were very grateful that she did this as we would have missed them.
