Perfect for two, Rosebank cottage has been tastefully renovated and is in the heart of the picturesque village of Lindale. Catch the sun in the garden terrace or climb through the flowers for a view to estuary and fells. The cottage has a large and sunny double bedroom,a bathroom with thermostatic shower and bath, a comfortable dining/ living room with woodburning stove and a modern fitted kitchen.

Mediaeval Cartmel and the sea at Grange over Sands are just a couple of miles away. Local walks start from Lindale and provide spectacular views to the lakeland fells and over Morecambe Bay . Higher climbs are accessible after a short drive, as are interesting market towns at Kendal and Ulverston.

There are noted gardens at Levens, Sizergh and Holker, and the area's wild flowers are abundant. Local woods are full of wild daffodils, whi...

There is excellent shopping in Grange over Sands which just a stone throw away and the local pub, the Royal Oak, serves a taste...

We had a lovely stay in Lindale. You really don't need a car. We were sceptical but there are regular buses so you can explore the beautiful countryside. We loved the little garden and enjoyed the walks near the village. An excellent base for exploring the Lake District. We recommend a visit to Coniston Water and Brantwood House. Best Fish...

About the neighborhood
Lindale climbs agreeably up the lower slopes of Newton Fell from the mouth of the Winster Valley. With a pub at the top and the bottom of the hill and a shop half way up it has everything you need.

The summit of Hampsfell also looks down on the village and over the Cartmel valley to the village of that name with its famous Priory and racecourse, and towards the sea at Grange. All of these are easy walks from Lindale.
Grange overSands is a seaside resort of particular charm. The Tourist office has details of guided walks across the Bay from Arnside, itself another pleasant resort, or just stroll along the promenade and watch out for the craft exhibitions there or the Edwardian festival in the summer.

You are only five minutes drive from Lake Windermere and the National Trust's access...
