About the neighborhood
The territory of Montenero di Bisaccia has its own beach and sits on the Abruzzo/Molise border, an excellent position from which to explore both regions. The town gets it's name from the ancient town of Bisaccia, at the foot of the hill it now dominates. Once covered with thick forests, the inhabitants of Bisaccia fled here during the Barbaric invasions.

The hills behind make an interesting drive and are dotted with little towns where one will always find somewhere to have a meal or just sit and have a drink in some little square or other. During the summer, the main towns have an impressive amount of free events on and you can usually get a list of these at the town hall or on the Internet. Don't miss the many local sagras(festas), there's always one on in some town or other....
