Very relaxing Easter break
Very quiet place with the coastal path and the beach literally at the end of the garden. Accommodation very comfortable, perfect for two couples with two double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Downstairs, there is a kitchen and living area plus a cosy snug/TV room. Outside, the patio area is south facing and we had a few days of glorious sunshine during the Easter week. If the weather turns, there are plenty of walks in both directions. Finding it can be tricky so make sure not to follow the sat-nav too closely. Head for Leiston and then Sizewell and there is a right hand turn into a single track road.

lovely clean beautiful place
Fabulous place, perfect for families, lovely and clean and booking process was very easy. Nothing was too much trouble for the girls in the office.

Luxury in a perfect remote location
If you want shops and restaurants within walking distance this is not the cottage for you, but if you want peace and quiet in a rural location where the beach is a short stroll away Dower Cottage is perfect.
The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are huge, there’s a second lounge and an enormous walled garden.

Excellent in every respect
The accommodation was first class. The property has been recently refurbished to a very high standard, with no expense spared.It is set in beautiful grounds close to the beach in a remote location.Ideal for those who like a nice peaceful holiday. The beach although a few minutes easy walk away requires access via steep stairs not easy for anyone with impaired mobility, this also applies to the stairs in the cottage.

Home from home!
Set in woodland and a 2 minute stroll along a leafy path to the beach, The Dower Cottage was perfect for a really comfortable and enjoyable stay. It was well equipped, modern, spacious, light and the the beds were great. We had our own private walled garden with a large patio and our own 'meadow'! The location made an excellent starting point for a walk along the beach to Aldeburgh, stopping at pretty Thorpeness for coffee. Twice during our week we ate delicious pizza, cooked in a wood burning oven in the neighbouring campsite's restaurant overlooking the sea - delicious!
We would love to stay in The Dower Cottage again and highly recommend it to others.
A huge thank you to Angela of Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages for helping to make our stay so wonderful.

Great location, clean, comfortable, private accommodation
The accommodation was ideal for four adults with very comfortable beds and ensuite facilities. We ate our meals in the cottage which was spacious with a great outdoor space. The location was also spot on with the beach a few minutes walk away and great coastal walks. We walked into Thorpeness and Aldeburgh which were both worth a visit. We booked the cottage as a last minute break following Covid 19 lockdown and it was the perfect place to go in the circumstances. We only stayed for three nights but we all wished it could have been longer. Would certainly come back and recommend to others, and having the option of the other accommodation on site would mean we would consider coming back with a larger party . I have given 5 stars as I feel confident that the few minor issues we encountered will be rectified as the management were keen to know what we thought as this is a new rental.
