Wayside is a spacious self-contained annexe to the owners' home and sleeps four guests in two bedrooms. The self catering accommodation is graded Four Star Gold by Visit Britain and is maintained in superb condition.
Ideal for families, couples or friends, Wayside offers a great base for exploring the New Forest and the nearby centres of
Salisbury and Southampton and coastal attractions of Bournemouth, Poole and the Purbecks. Peppa Pig World is about 20 minutes drive away.
Wayside is located off the main road down a gravel track offering peace and quiet with a secluded garden which is not overlooked.
The Sandy Balls Holiday Centre is a few minutes walk away and with your booking is included two adult and two child passes for the leisure club providing free swimming and access to the gymna...

Home from home
So you are planning to go to the New Forest . Great choice. Now you just need to find a lovely place to stay.
Definately choose Wayside. All the positive reviews are absolutely genuine. Phil and Eileen, the owners, are a lovely couple.
They take pride in their property and strive to make it a place you want to return to, and succeed. You arrive and everything is shiny and clean. We brought extras needed at other holiday lets, but werent needed at Wayside because they were provided for. The perk of having membership passes to use 'next door' at Sandyballs holiday complex, is a bonus. We've stayed at Sandyballs. However Wayside is luxury class and we found to be alot cheaper.
Book Wayside and enjoy a fantastic little gem of a place. You wont reget it.

Great property in the new forest
Wayside is a great place to stay. The accommodation is extremely clean and is the best equipped property we have stayed in on a holiday. The hosts Phil and Eileen are extremely helpful and friendly. On arrival there was complimentary biscuits, milk, tea and coffee. The hosts are very thoughtful and there are extra things included; a free parking clock for 3 hours free parking in many car parks in the area and complimentary passes to swimming at the holiday park next door. A short drive away also takes you to a number of walks which can be done in the new forest. There are also many attractions 30 mins drive away including moors valley park and beaulieu motor museum both of which we visited. A definite recommendation and hope to return in the future.

Absolute gem of a property in the New Forest
We stayed for a week in August school holidays and had a great time. The weather wasn't brilliant, but we were able to get out and about every day inbetween showers.
Wayside is an absolute gem of a property. Ample parking, private decking and garden area, so spotlessly clean we thought it had just been decorated. The quality of the furnishings and bedding was extremely high and well appreciated. We are a family of two adults and two children aged 10 and 13. Everything we needed was catered for - there was a wide range of utensils and cooking crockery, pots and pans, cleaning equipment and a really good shower. There was also a selection of games, dvds and books. Having Sky and a smart tv really helped with the kids too!
We managed some walks around the forest and loved Rhinefield Ornamental Drive and Boldrewood. We visited lots of the towns and villages, went bowling and to the cinema, had a great day at Monkey World too. It was a joy just to drive around the roads and experience all of the wild animals doing as they please! Having passes to Sandy Balls holiday park 1 min down the road really helped too, we went swimming quite a few times and had a wander around some of the trails there too.
We had a thoroughly great week at Phil & Eileen's and would 100% recommend it.

Perfect
Our second visit and it did not disappoint. The cottage is a perfect home from home. Clean, comfortable and with everything you need. Bed was so comfortable....slept very well! Perfectly positioned for access to the New Forest and close to some decent pubs. Will definitely recommend to our friends.

Lovely break and much needed!
This was out first holiday in 2 years! We are still very cautious and were impressed with the cleanliness and covid measures.
Eileen and Phil were very friendly and put us at ease.
The accommodation was so much more than we expected,anything you could think of.....it was there.
So much storage space so you can unpack properly.
We ordered a supermarket shop, which was easy.
Lovely break and much needed.

A hidden gem of a place to stay
As the title says an absolute gem of a place to stay. Philip & Eileen are the nicest, frenidlest people you could meet and the pride that they have put into wayside shows. You have everything you need and more from cooking to cleaning your boots after a muddy walk. A home from home we will be back.

Perfectly placed and excellent standard of accommodation in the New Forest.
We spent a relaxing week in this very comfortable holiday home. Phil and Eileen were very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed; the accommodation was clean, warm and well thought out with everything to make self catering convenient and comfortable. Perfect location to access the New Forest and surrounding towns and villages. Salisbury and Bournemouth being just half an hour away. We were also able to make use of the facilities at the neighbouring holiday centre.

A very special place to stay
Everything about Wayside Cottage was exceptional,from the warm welcome from Phil and Eileen to the beautifully clean warm and and welcoming cottage itself.
The kitchen was so well equipped ,the appliances like the oven easy to use though we weren’t used to Sky TV which Phil patiently showed us how to access.
The shower room was immaculate,and the bedrooms had loads of wardrobe space and the beds were so comfortable with top quality crisp white bedding and large fluffy towels.
There was a private garden and wooden decking and although the owners home was adjacent and they were very friendly whenever we saw them,they were not at all intrusive.
It was the most perfect place we have found to stay in the New Forest in the last 10 years of searching,and in these times of Covid we felt extremely safe there with the vigorous cleaning schedule that is being followed.
Sandy Balls holiday Camp is close by and we were given passes to swim and for a discount at the restaurants there.We also bought our newspapers and milk at the shop on site.
Godshill is a hamlet just a short drive from Fordingbridge but there are pretty walks from the cottage. Do try the local eateries the owners recommend They were all great.
We will certainly go back.We had such a lovely holiday.

Wonderfully perfect place to relax!
Wayside is perfect! A beautiful hide away in the middle of the New Forest, close enough to all major roads to allow for exploration but hidden away for complete piece and quiet, allowing you to relax as soon as you arrive.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean, homely and inviting. The kitchen has to be the most well stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a holiday let, the hosts have literally thought of everything!
The private outside space is perfection with beautiful floral arrangements. Again, the hosts have thought of everything, providing a small washing line, a boot stand for those wet and muddy boots and even a mini herb garden to help yourself too.
Phil and Eileen were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We really felt like we had been welcomed by some dear friends, who went out of their way to make us feel at ease.
We all had such a wonderful time at Wayside, both our 18 year old and 8 year old were sad to leave and said that they definitely wanted to to return again. It really was the perfect base for our perfect family holiday. We do hope to return again very soon!

Superb, 5 ⭐️ accommodation
We’ve (unfortunately) just returned home from a 7 night stay at Wayside. Absolutely wonderful accommodation, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and the lovely owners, Phil and Eileen, have really thought of everything! The cottage has everything you could possibly need, and the owners are so very friendly and accommodating. Brilliant to also be able to use the facilities next door at ‘Sandy Balls’ holiday park. Really can not recommend this highly enough. Can’t think of even one negative. We’ll definitely be back!! Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday. Hope to see you again very soon, Lisa, Richard, Connor and Aiden 🙂.

About the neighborhood
Wayside is in the village of Godshill on the edge of the New Forest National Park. To the east is some of the wildest scenery with rolling hills covered in heather and woodland and to the west is the Hampshire Avon valley. Within a few hundred yards superb views and sunsets across the valley can be enjoyed. The Village pub which serves good food and ale is about 10 minutes walk away.
Sandy Balls holiday centre is even closer and has a convenience store, a pub, a restaurant, a takeaway, a cycle hire facility and leisure club with indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Your holiday booking includes family membership of the Leisure Club providing free access to the swimming pools.
Fordingbridge is 5 minutes drive and has two small super markets, a range of interesting shops, several pubs, takeaways and restaurants and a spacious riverside park with children's play area Use the provided car park clock to get 3 hours of free parking in the two main car parks in Fordingbridge and most of the towns in the New Forest.
A riding stable is a short walk away where you can ride out on to the open forest.
Getting around
Most visitors arrive by car but there are rail links to Salisbury, Bournemouth or Southampton from which buses or taxis can be used. We can arrange to pick you up from Fordingbridge which benefits from a regular bus service.
Wayside is well positioned for cyclists whether you bring your own or hire from the Sandy Balls cycle centre a few minutes walk away.
