Sehr schön
Wir haben für 9 Tage gebucht und nachdem wir die ganze Insel abgefahren haben, kann ich sagen, es war die beste Wahl. Das Häuschen ist entzückend, blitzsauber, total ruhig und die Gastgeber sind wirklich außergewöhnlich gastfreundlich. Die Lage hat sich als guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen erwiesen. Wer gerne seine Ruhe hat, authentisch spanisches Ambiente schätzt und einen Platz sucht, der trotzdem relativ verkehrsgünstig gelegen ist, wird sich hier wohlfühlen.

Io e mio marito abbiamo alloggiato alla Fragua de Eliseo a Igueste di Candelaria dal 20 al 27 Febbraio scorso.
Non potevamo chiedere di meglio. Pilar, la proprietaria, sempre cordiale e pronta a darti tutte le informazioni necessarie. La casa... una vera chicca! Non manca niente, pulitissima ed accogliente. La realtà ha superato l'aspettativa.
Se si vuole stare tranquilli, lontano dal caos turistico, ma in una posizione strategica per poter visitare l'isola la Fragua de Eliseo è il posto giusto.

The essence of peace and tranquility.
Pilar and her Husband have created a wonderful escape for those lucky enough to experience it. The converted building is at the top of a steep valley on the outskirts of Igueste de Candelaria with views down to the sea. Bread is delivered fresh each morning and Pilar had stocked the kitchen with cheeses, milk, juice, wine, salads and fruit to mention only a part. The whole Island is easily accessed by car from here and is well worth the effort. Tiede is spectacular and the small towns and villages as well as the countryside were made for exploring.
We have already booked to return next year.

Home from home, but better!
Situated on the mountainside above Candelaria, this is a beautifully converted old blacksmith's forge. After a hectic few days of staying in a large apartment complex in Puerto de la Cruz, it was lovely to stay in such a quiet tranquil setting. From our arrival and throughout our stay, our hostess Pilar made us feel most welcome. She had provided a basket of fresh fruit and vegetables and a fridge full of local produce. Along with the fresh bread delivered every morning, it was all we needed!
The cottage was beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed, excellent shower and a very well-equipped kitchen with modern amenities. Even in January, we were able to have breakfast on the south-facing sun terrace with a sea-view.
We would definitely recommend a stay here and look forward to returning ourselves one day!

Marvelous, authentic and quiet place on the hill side
Spent a lovely week here, away from the major tourist hustle and bustle.
Everything from reservation till check-out went smooth and Pilar is a fantastic host, who can answer all the questions, gives great advice on things to see and do, but most of all makes you feel like you're visiting an old friend.
The Fragua de Eliseo is built in traditional style, and offers all the necessities for a care free stay. Generously filled fridge upon arrival and great local produce. The local cheese and wine are delicious. Fresh bread every day.
I particularly enjoyed the breakfast/brunches on the terrace overlooking the hill side and the sea. This place is perfect for relaxing, away from the Los Christianos madness. Yet it is nearby the sea, and plenty of shopping and restaurants can be found 5 minutes drive away.

La Fragua de Eliseo is een sfeervol huisje gelegen op een prachtig plekje, bijna boven op een berg aan de rand van een dorpje. Je verblijft er in een tot in de puntjes stijl-echt gerestaureerde oude smitse, heel liefdevol ingericht, alles klopt. Hierbij komt de hartelijke ontvangst en gastvrijheid van gastvrouw Pilar, de compleet ingerichte keuken, koelkast gevuld met lekkere drankjes en streekproducten...groente, fruit, eigen verse eitjes, lekkere kaasjes en wijn en het prachtige uitzicht. Dit zorgt ervoor dat je heerlijk uitrust en binnen de kortste keren in een soort chill-modus komt, die hopelijk thuis ook nog even aanhoud!

Les Canaries authentiques, loin des usines à touristes
Difficile de décrire cet établissement sans que l'équipe de modérateur de TripAdvisor ne pense qu'il s'agisse d'un faux commentaire, tant nous n'avons que du bien à en dire. Après quelques jours passés à Santa Fe dans un "grand" hôtel, nous recherchions un hébergement plus authentique pour terminer la semaine. La Fraga de Eliseo se trouve sur un flanc de montagne, à 20 Km au sud de Santa Fe. On y accède via une (longue) montée assez raide. Il est possible de se garer directement chez la propriétaire, mais nous n'avons pas osé terminer la dernière côte tant notre voiture de location semblait peiner. Pas grave : des places de parking étaient aussi disponible juste avant. On accède ensuite à cette "Casa Rurale" par un escalier et un petit chemin. Elle est constituée d'une maisonnette de 3 pièces (chambre, "salon" et cuisine équipée) décorée
avec gout ainsi qu'une salle de bain avec une douche.
Notre hôte – que nous remercions au passage ! – nous a accueillis immédiatement avec quelques douceurs gastronomiques (fromages, petits gâteaux et vin) que nous avons beaucoup appréciées. Juste devant, on trouve une petite terrasse très jolie (où nous avons pris la plupart de nos repas) et un peu plus loin, un petit cabanon avec une machine à laver. Un barbecue – que nous avons utilisé deux fois ! – se trouve également à proximité de la terrasse. Le rêve. La vue sur la mer est superbe. Le pain nous est déposé le matin par la propriétaire dans un petit baluchon pendu à la fenêtre. Bref, impossible de trouver meilleur "service", le tout dans un endroit calme et propre. L'île étant assez petite, on atteint rapidement n'importe quel point en partant de là , même les plages du sud (40 minutes en voiture). Côté climat, nous y étions en Janvier et il faisait entre 18 et 24°C. Largement de quoi manger dehors en t-shirt. Nous n'avons eu que quelque heures de pluie.
Bref, la Fraga De Eliseo est à l'évidence l'un des meilleurs bons plans des Canaries, surtout si les usines à touristes vous font fuir comme nous !

A Beautiful And Special Place to Stay
Away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream tourism, an artistically converted old forge, with modern amenities and very nice south facing sun terrace, where we enjoyed leisurely breakfasts, soaking up the fresh air and taking in the sparkling seaview. A bus service is available in the village, although we hired a car and ventured out on most days to visit other interesting and historic locations. On our arrival, Pilar was very welcoming and provided us with delicious fresh produce, also a selection local delicacies to taste and bread was delivered fresh, every morning. The house was scrupulously clean, the garden well attended to and we recommend this as a beautiful and special place to stay.

Super schön und traumhaft gelegen
Super schönes typisch kanarisches kleines Landhaus mit einem Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett, Wohnzimmer mit einem weiteren Schlafplatz, einer komplett eingerichteten Küche und einem kleinen Bad mit Dusche. Alles sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Bei unserer Ankunft standen ein Obstkorb, ein Gemüsekorb, ein Teller voll Käse, Süßigkeiten sowie eine Flasche Wein und eine ganze Reihe Lebensmittel für uns in der Küche. So etwas kannten wir bisher wirklich nicht. Draußen vor dem Häuschen befindet sich ein Tisch mit vier Stühlen, ideal um draußen zu essen und dabei den Meerblick zu genießen. Ebenso stehen Liegestühle zur Verfügung. Auf einem gemauerten Grill kann man sich seine eigenen Steaks braten und dabei immer wieder den Blick runter aufs Meer schweifen lassen. Sogar eine Waschmaschine ist vorhanden. Die Freundlichkeit der Vermieter ist wirklich einmalig. So super nette liebe Menschen die einem noch so verwöhnen findet man selten. Schon 3x wurden wir von Ihnen überrascht mit leckeren Kuchen und einem leckeren Dessert aus Kaffee. So stellt man sich Urlaub vor. Immer wieder gerne!!!

Bon plan casa rurale
Un lieu parfait pour une semaine de repos sur une tres belle île. La maison est propre, avec vue sur l'ocean, dans un petit village calme et pittoresque. Nous avons aimé loger dans une petite maison typique canarienne. Pilar est une hôte arrangeante, discrète et attentionnée qui confectionne de très bons gâteaux et autres douceurs. Le lieu est moins touristique que le sud, mais très proche de santa cruz, et Candelaria est apparemment très prisée par les locaux : de bons restaurants à petits prix. Nous avons vraiment passé une semaine parfaite, et nous ne manquerons pas de conseiller ce "bon plan" à nos amis.
