The apartment 'Città della Pieve' is situated on the ground floor of a large villa called Casa San Carlo, in the lovely hills of Umbria, right on the Tuscan border. Thanks to its elevated position, the apartment offers a lovely view of its surroundings, as it overlooks sloping hills covered with olive trees, woods and vineyards. Looking up, you'll see the belltower of Monteleone d'Orvieto, a charming little village just a mile up the country road.
The Apartment is one of 7 apartments located in the big villa Casa San Carlo and has a large 14 x 8 communal swimming pool.
(The pool is open from april 1. until oktober 1.)

Perfect place for families - large pool, nice appartment, lots of services
Casa san Carlo is owned by a dutch couple and therefore attracts dominantly people from holland. In the dutch holiday season , expect CSC to be fully booked by dutch families.
Citta Pieve is the only appartment on the ground floor. It is at the entrance of the casa, at the back there is a communal area. A few times a week, dinner is served (optionally), furthermore there is an honesty bar, espressomachine and stocked wine cellar. In the morning, CSC can provide fresh bread from the bakery.
Citta Pieve has the advantage you can be outside without being in the communal area (therefore possible to withdraw from the typical dutch "gezelligheid" . As it is at the entrance of the house, other guests walk by.
The pool is large an boosts a 2m+ depth part and a shallow part with roman stairs. Very good, There is a garden with children toys and around the house there is a large collection of toys, lego. You can leave all of that at home!

Ultiem genieten met vrienden of familie
Of je je nu helemaal in de watten wilt laten leggen of alles zelf wilt uitzoeken. Alles kan hier. Wij gingen met vrienden voor een all inclusive pakket met heerlijke ontbijtjes, wijnen, top adressen om te eten en de omgeving te verkennen en dus het ultieme vakantiegevoel. Kom zeker terug met kids voor een heerlijke familievakantie in 1 van de appartementjes

Super gastvriendelijk
Met 16 vriendinnen hebben we Casa San Carlo afgehuurd en het was geweldig! Van ontvangst tot en met vertrek zijn we door Klaartje en Torben in de watten gelegd!!
Ik kan hier in superlatieven het huis, het ontbijt, de wijnen, het avondeten, de pizza's, het uitzicht en het gastheer/vrouw-schap beschrijven. Maar de beste tip die ik kan geven: dit moet je zelf ervaren, dus boeken en gaan!

Geweldig plekje verscholen in de bergen bij Monteleone
Oud omgebouwd landhuis met 8 appartementen in de heuvels bij Monteleone.
Heerlijke plek om tot rust te komen met het gezin.
De appartementen zijn erg fijn en ruim. Het leuke is dat het kleinschalig is. De kinderen maken snel vriendjes en spelen de hele dag in of rond het zwembad of in het speeltuintje.
De eigenaren Klaartje en Torben maken er echt een feestje van. 3 keer per week kan je aanschuiven om mee te eten, waaronder ook een keer zelf pizza's maken.
Dit is voor de kids een belevenis. Pizza klaar? Dan roep je Pizza Pronta! En Torben komt aangesneld met zijn pizza schep om je pizza in 3 minuutjes af te bakken. Echt smullen!
Biertjes en wijntjes streep je gewoon zelf af en gaat op basis van vertrouwen. Waar vind je dit nog?
In de omgeving zijn tal van leuke dorpjes te bezichtigen, maar ook bijvoorbeeld watervallen, warm water bronnen, klimparken etc. Torben organiseert ook wijnproeverijen met lekkere hapjes erbij waar je gerust je kinderen mee kunt nemen.
Bij casa San Carlo kom je echt tot rust en heb je echt vakantie, absolute aanrader!!

Echt ge-wel-dig!
Geweldige plek met een geweldige sfeer, uitzicht en gezelligheid. Ideaal voor een gezin. Eigenaren Klaartje & Torben complimenteren je verblijf met behulpzame tips en organiseren meerdere culinaire avonden waaronder een wekelijkse pizza-avond. Torben-de-sommelier serveert fantastische wijnen, waarvan sommige eigen Casa San Carlo wijnen zijn. De self-service bar is volledig uitgerust met voor-ieder-wat-wils. Het onlangs gerenoveerde zwembad is een traktatie om rond te hangen. De locaties zijn ook geweldig. Niet twijfelen, doen!

Idyllisch gelegen villa midden in de natuur met een prachtig uitzicht
Casa San Carlo is een paradijsje en de gastvrouw en gastheer zijn de engelen die deze uitgelezen vakantie bestemming beheren. Uitstekende appartementen in een mooie villa die heel authentiek is gerestaureerd. Het zwembad ligt wat lager waardoor er rondom het zwembad een intieme sfeer heerst. Naast logies bieden Klaartje en Torben tal van streekproducten aan, Alles van uitstekende kwaliteit en schappelijk geprijsd De omgeving biedt tal van excusiemogelijkheden,zoals Orvieto, lago di Corbara en niet te vergeten het prachtige Middeleeuwse stadje Monteleone : een verstild pareltje.

Zwemmen, pizza’s eten en genieten
Fantastisch! Toppe gastheer en gastvrouw. Als je net als ik een alleenstaande vader met een paar kinderen bent is er niks beters te bedenken. Lekker met een glas wijn in de zon liggen terwijl je een pizza eet die je zelf hebt gemaakt terwijl je je kinderen hun vrije gang kan laten gaan. In het dorp beneden is er zowel voor kinderen als voor single mannen genoeg te beleven. Absolute aanrader!

About the neighborhood
What to see and do around us:
Casa San Carlo is centrally located to visit both Tuscany and Umbria! Visit cities such as Montepulciano, Siena, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto and see all of their treasures. Wander around through the mideaval cobbled streets, have the best coffe in town and eat a delicious 'gelato'. Enjoy a day at the nearby Spa and bathe like the old Romands did in natural thermal water! Go winetasting in the vicinity of the villa and then enjoy the large swimming pool to relax. Rent a Vespa scooter and take a tour of Lake Trasimeno, or take a direct train to Florence or Rome and be amazed by these beautiful cities. Torben and Claire are happy to give you all the tips you need!
About the villa:
On the exact same spot where Casa San Carlo now stands, there used to be a ruin with a great tree growing out of it. The old stones of the ruin were used for the outer walls of the new house and for the 'portico' (the terrace). Other materials, such as the beams for the ceiling, the stones for the inner walls, the wood for the kitchen drawers and the huge dining room table, were all produced in Umbria. Most of the furniture is handmade, such as the beds and cupboards in the bedrooms.
During the restoration a lot of though went into the environment as well. Solar panels were installed to use as a natural heating system, which also reduces the use of costly gas. Each apartment has central heating, which means that we don;t have to heat up the whole house for individual guests in winter time.
The restoration took a year and a half to complete, and its result is a stunning luxury villa of 500 square meters with a small annex next to it, an impressive pool and a lovely garden.
Casa San Carlo is the ideal place for young and old, for individual guests as well as for groups, for couples or for families with young children. We'd love to welcome you in our home!

Getting to Casa San Carlo is very easy. Just follow our instructions.
By Plane:
You can reach us using various airports such as Rome (both Fiumicino and Ciampino) Florence, Pisa and Perugia.
We can then be reached by car using the A1 motorway and taking the exit Fabro.
By train you need to reach either Fabro-Ficulle or Chiusi-Chianciano Terme.
