The accommodation is as restful as the location with comfortable open plan living and spacious bedroom facilities. Picture windows offer unrestricted views as an alternative to watching internet enabled smart TV. Netflix and wifi are also available. Outside, guests can enjoy the expansive grounds and water features of the main property as well as their own private garden. Alternatively they can stroll up to the stables. The East Neuk (corner) of Fife is an area full of fantastic attractions, events, festivals, outdoor activities and breath taking beaches. Quaint and picture perfect this area is renowned for its charming fishing villages and harbours such as Crail, Anstruther and Pittenweem. Fishing has been a staple in the life of the East Neuk villages for generations and if you're up early enough, you can witness the bustle of the harbours in the morning as the boats land their daily catch of prawns, lobsters and crabs of the highest quality. Alternatively you can enjoy the very same seafood in some of the very best restaurants Scotland has to offer. Explore the fascinating culture and history of the East Neuk along with its historic castles (some reputably haunted) where you can enjoy fine interiors and enchanting walled gardens with woodland and meadow walks. Alternatively grab some exercise with a range of first rate outdoor activities to suit all ages. Take a walk along the Fife Coastal Path to admire the beautiful coastline. You can uncover some prime diving sites in the Firth of Forth, set sail to the rugged Isle of May or try out activities such as archery, abseiling and kayaking. But above all else you can enjoy a round of golf on some of the very best courses including the home of golf at the Old Course St Andrews a mere 25 minutes drive. Dumbarnie our most recent golf course is now open with excellent reviews. The Doocot overlooks the Charleton golf course!

Relaxing
I booked the Doocot as i needed a break from busy life. I arrived and was drawn to the pond, was delighted to find a frog.... Property was well equipped with everything you needed. Owner Elaine showed me how to get the recliner sofa to recline as i wasnt sure. I had everything i needed and was able to potter around, go to Leven, Annstruther and St Andrew where i got soaked but it was good. I would go back again. Elaine and her husband very friendly. Loved the garden and the frogs/pheasants/chickens nearby. Elaine W

A cosy retreat in beautiful Fife
The Doocot was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay during our week-long trip to Fife. It's cosy and has everything you'd need in a home away from home. The bathroom and bedroom in particular are beautifully done. The pictures really don't do it justice! It's also set in stunning gardens with a little stream running nearby. Really idyllic. The owner Elaine was very friendly and sent along plenty of details for our stay including precise directions which were so helpful. When we arrived, a welcome basket was waiting for us containing fresh eggs, bread and more treats. There was also milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine on the coffee table--so many thoughtful touches from the owners to make our stay special. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again if we return to Fife (very likely...!). Thank you again, Elaine, for a really lovely stay.

Brilliant
My husband and I just spent a week at the Doocot and loved it. Elaine and Rob have made sure the cottage is immaculate and comfortable. Everything is provided and the welcome pack of basics plus a bottle of wine on arrival was most appreciated. Unfortunately the rainy weather this time meant we couldn’t enjoy the beautiful gardens.which was a pity. The cottage is easily accessible to all the local tourist attractions and golf courses. This is our second visit to the Doocot and hopefully we’ll come back again. Highly recommend this lovely cottage.

Beautiful location and lovely, very well appointed cottage
The cottage was lovely - comfortable and very well appointed and there were many nice touches to make the stay felt special. The grounds of the main house are beautiful and are available for visitors to use. We found a lovely secluded sitting area behind the garage next to the stream and sat there in the evening with the chiminea burning away, which was a great chill out zone. The town of Elie is a short 10 min drive away and has great beaches. Crail and Anstruther are also nearby and worth a visit. We would definitely come back here!

Clean, comfortable and perfectly formed!
This little cottage is around 3 miles from the coast in lovely quiet surroundings. The cottage itself is so comfortable and extremely fresh & clean. We really enjoyed the reclining furniture. There is everything in the kitchen that you need to cook an evening meal (if you can be bothered) The bed is comfortable and we enjoyed our conversations with the echo dot! Very close by there are some lovely wee fishing villages to explore, St Andrews is a great day out and Dundee is within striking distance. There are several lovely beaches near if you enjoy the seaside We also found some lovely places to eat out at reasonable prices. All in all this is a great find and you would really enjoy a holiday in this cottage and the surrounding area.
