Luxury condo at its best with outstanding views of the Lake
Enjoyed our stay at the Arenal Maleku Luxury Condominiums. Friendly atmosphere, people on site very efficient to meet customer needs. Great premises. Unit 12-2-2-1 provided great balcony views and protection from the wind. Therefore, we were able to enjoy outdoor space even when the winds were too strong and from the rain. The unit provided various movie channels and we had a great time regardless of the rainy days. The only down side is limited living room furniture (for two people only). Very interesting to meet the Maleku indians close by and learn how they live.

Beautiful Location
We would rate this condo 5/5 as soon as construction is finished. The location was beautiful, the actual unit was beautiful, and the pool/fitness area was very beautiful. However, some parts of this condo were not yet completed. The oven did not work, there were several light switches that did nothing, and there did not appear to be any security after hours. The gate to enter the property had a lock that was not locked, so we jumped out of our car, pushed the gate open, drove through, then closed the gate back up every time we left or returned to the property. Despite this, we felt very safe here. It is a fairly isolated location, but was great for driving to Aranel, Rainbow Falls, and other area attractions. Perhaps it was the time of year that we visited, but we were the only guests at this condo (pretty amazing to have that pool to ourselves) and were often among very few guests at nearby attractions/ restaurants. We are now at Playa Ocotal for the second leg of our trip, and although we are enjoying it, we are missing our drives over dirt roads and hikes through the rainforests to swim by ourselves in waterfalls and climb over lava flows.

WOW! The Views!!
Be prepared to have your heart stolen! This is a brand new complex near the top of the hill. Awesome views from everywhere in our 1 bedroom unit and the large wrap-around deck outside.
The woodwork on the floors and cabinetry are very high end and gorgeous. As the reviews for the other unit says there is everything you need - TV, WiFi, washer/dryer, 3(!) pools, an open air exercise area (complete with boxing ring!). Basically, you get the idea. If you're contemplating staying anywhere near here this should be your home base (you can thank me for the advice later). One of the items I loved were the sleek wind turbines on the top of the hills behind the complex. Bye-bye to the electric company!
The people are very friendly - we awoke one morning to some fresh bananas on our doorstep. Ask your questions about what to see and the best way of getting there - you will get excellent advice.
If you are into anything having to do with water and wind - windsurfing, sail-boarding, windsurfing and the like - you probably will find it impossible to leave.
An interesting bit of information for you, fellow traveler, is the units are also for sale. Take a bit of your time here and investigate and you may end up with a luxury home to winter in.
