THIS IS the place... pure vida!
Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake... perfect! perfect! This is how I'd like to describe our recent stay at the Villa. All of us enjoyed the place... the location...perfect- far enough to enjoy quiet and solitude; perfect- close enough to enjoy all the activities, fun and adventures that Guanacaste has to offer, for example, beach, paddle boarding, horseback riding, waterfalls, restaurants, etc.; perfect- close enough to the stores, groceries, etc., and close enough to fly in through Liberia Airport; perfect-the house and its amenities... kitchen is full, the pool, rooms are large and spacious, the location and the views --- wow! breathtaking just looking from the outside; and were grateful for the working washing machine and dryer - no problem... and it is so easy to talk and communicate with the owner, Coltin, and his associate is so helpful and kind. If you are looking for a place... this is the place - Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake.

Arenal Springs Villas Vacation
Accommodations perfect for our family of 16: impeccably clean and comfortable, beautifully and completely furnished and breathtaking views over Lake Arenal. Tropical manicured landscape conducive to bird watching and listening. Maria’s warm hospitality and expert advice about the area was beyond our expectations, assuring a pleasurable stay and happy memories of Arenal. We would highly recommend the Villas to anyone visiting the area.

A piece of paradise with wonderful views of Lake Arenal
We stayed at the beautiful house at the top of the property, giving us beautiful vies of the lake and countryside. The birds visited every morning. Beautiful foliage covers the property. The location is perfect, just a short drive to restaurants, local towns, and the Arenal Volcano. The owners are super helpful with recommendations for food, attractions, etc. You cannot go wrong staying at this beautiful property in Lake Arenal area

High expectations exceeded!
Our party of 4 seniors (average age over 70!) arrived by rented SUV just after sundown and were guided the last few miles via phone. Obviously couldn't take in the expansive, beautiful view that greeted us in the morning. Breathtaking!
We stayed in the large house and it had the additional amenity of a hot tub and propane barbeque. The pool is far enough away not to be bothered by others enjoying it, but close enough to be an easy walk down hill.
Tom and Maria were more like our hosts than renters. Both are friendly and engaging and went out of their way to be helpful to us. We followed their recommendations for places to go in the nearby Nuevo Arenal and were not disappointed in any of them.
Our stay was 10 days, so we really got to know Tom and Maria and we had a number of extended visits with them (our election!). Both are friendly and likeable and added a lot to our visit.
The grounds and the house itself are right out of a travelog. A special recommendation to the housekeepers...they did a great job in keeping the premises tidy and clean.
This was our 6th visit to Costa Rica and I can honestly say this was our favorite!

Wonderful and welcoming villa
The Arenal Springs Villas near Neuvo Arenal was our first stop in Costa Rica. Our unit was clean, spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable and private. Good fridge, functional basic kitchen. Free wi-fi. We had lovely views. Enjoyed swimming in the pool on a sunny afternoon. Our hosts Tom and Maria were welcoming and very helpful. Tom even upgraded the TV to enable better viewing of winter Olympics (we're Canadian, what can I say).
We were travelling without a car and new to Costa Rica. Consequently we relied more heavily than we expected to on Tom and Maria's good will and support. They graciously helped us with car bookings and advice and assisted us with a run to town. This location is very close to restaurants and services in Neuvo Arenal and quite close to Lafortuna with hot springs, adventure tours etc. and to Arenal area activities - if you have are driving.

Amazing house decorations are beautiful, owner super helpful and the location is perfect. The view is to fall in love with. Highly recommended if you like nature and quiet relax environment.

This is the place you've been looking for!!
If you seek a peaceful, quiet vacation with spectacular views and just a short drive to some of the most desirable sites in Costa Rica, then Casa Grande is your dream come true. We rented this house on our recent trip and wish we could have stayed forever. Morning coffee on the huge veranda watching the birds peck away at the bananas and nuts that we offered while listening to the monkeys (although we never actually caught sight of them, darn it!) and watching the sun peek above the mountains and reflect on Lake Arenal. The house was impeccably clean and adequately stocked, although we chose to eat at one of the many delicious nearby restaurants for nearly every meal. And the property's landscaping is amazing! A short drive (45 minutes) to Arenal and the thermal springs is a must! Take Tom and Maria's advice on where to go -- we bypassed Tabacon and went to Los Lagos thermal pools -- a great deal to be had for a full day of soaking in the warm springs water with a fabulous lunch for only $29. Away from the city lights, we enjoyed cool evenings star-gazing on the veranda. Although we didn't use it, the hot tub was warmed and ready and perfectly placed to enjoy the stunning views - day or night. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, you definitely belong here. Thanks Tom and Maria, for your wonderful hospitality and for sharing your property with us! I hope to return for a longer stay next time.

A fusion of natural beauty and luxurious elegance.
As four seniors, we truly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the stunning views from both the patio and the interior of this open design mansion. Tom and Maria were gracious hosts as well as old hands in the community who took the time to appraise us of shopping and restaurants nearby.
Nueva Arenal is somewhat of a German expat enclave on the northwestern shores of Lake Arenal, .so you can go out in the morning to enjoy either your fruhstuck or your daysayunos at a number of interesting nearby establishments, take your pick.
We made use of both the pool.in the afternoon and the spa in the evening, My wife Kathie fed visiting tropical birds fresh fruit every day but was less successful at tempting our visiting our Capuchin monkeys down from their arboreal perches by proffering banana treats..
The kitchen is fully equipped and we ate in about half of our evenings. Bring your own favorite spices since since availability is limited in the nearby supermarkets.
The paved driveway up to the top where Casa Grande is situated can be intimidating at first but take your time and enjoy this beautifully landscaped vehicle pathway. If you can drive in Costa Rica, the last few hundred yards to home will be easy..
If you enjoy quiet solitude and stunning natural beauty experienced from a grand and lofty mansion, this is your place.. .

Heaven on earth!
We rented the whole property for our family. (16 people+ 1 child) It was spectacular! The accommodations were extremely comfortable. The owners were lovely to work with, and were there within minutes after a call. Other than that we only saw them upon arrival and departure. The property has incredible landscaping as well, and the view is amazing. Thank you Tom, and Maria for making us so comfortable, and sharing this little heaven on earth with us. We will be back as soon as possible.

An Incredible Vacation
Arenal Springs Villas by the lake and Casa Grande are simply spectacular. We normally don't write reviews but we felt a need to share this with others. We were a little worried about another clients words about humidity and not having air moving thru the Villa was completely unfounded for us. The Villa was amazingly clean and weather was very comfortable with nice cool nights for sleeping. Tom and Maria were exceptional hosts and Tom was very knowledgeable about the area as he has been in Costa Rica for more than 13 years. Maria planned all of our tours for us and was spot on defining where we should visit and where to dine. Tom has a hand-drawn two page map highlighting all the useful information such as tours to see and places to eat. Casa Grande is a very private part of the property and we were able to look out the windows or walk just out the door to see exotic birds and animals. My children like us will have these perfect memories for a lifetime. This property is absolutely incredible. We hope to return someday and we highly recommend Arenal Springs Villas by the Lake to all.

About the neighborhood
We are conveniently located on Lake Arenal in Guanacaste. 1 Hour to La Fortuna and Volcano Arenal and 1 1/2 hours from Monteverde in the opposite direction. The small town of Nuevo Arenal is only 4 miles away for shopping, dining, etc...Magnificent Views of Lake Arenal and close to Views of Arenal Volcao. Day trips to the Beaches are frequently taken by my clients.Careful of my competition as many are located up some very bad roads or are not Private and Gated as we are.
