The house has two sitting rooms, one each side of the entrance vestibule; both having lovely open fireplaces. Glenmount's accommodation comprises of two large reception rooms, a good sized kitchen diner, a large bathroom featuring a roll top bath and additional separate shower, 3 double bedrooms and 1 smaller bedroom with bunk beds. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Outside there is a small garden to the front, with Summerhouse. At the back steps lead up to a peaceful sun terrace with views to the north and east into the wooded valley. The terrace one of the most stunning features, offering guests a panoramic view of the countryside. You can hear the hawks by day and the owls at night. It is great for star gazing too. This spacious four bedroom cottage offers very comfortable and modern accommodation with traditional period features; the perfect getaway for family and friends who enjoy this very special and scenic area of West Cornwall. Accommodation Details The traditional double fronted Cornish house is entered via the original glass porch way. SITTING ROOM 1 - with a timber floor and large rug, has two Laura Ashley 3 seater sofas, flat screen TV, Apple TV, radiator and original open fireplace. SITTING ROOM 2 - again with a timber floor and large rug, the seating format is more informal with sofa and chairs, set up ideally as a room for relaxation, it contains an x-box/wii, board games, books, magazines and puzzles, radiator and original open fireplace. From here, a door leads to the kitchen and dining room. DINING AREA is wooden floored and has a large modern table seating up to 10, with a radiator, dresser and victorian hall stand. The slate floored KITCHEN area, features an oil-fired Rayburn, double ceramic sink, integrated oven and induction hob. The kitchen is fitted out with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The main staircase divides the house. The BEDROOMS are attractively fitted throughout and comprise 4 BEDROOMS- of which one contains a king-sized bed, two contain double beds and one bunk-beds. The main BATHROOM features a gorgeous roll-top cast-iron bath, a separate shower, basin, WC and ladder towel rail. There is also a separate WC, with toilet and sink. HEATING is by means of oil fired central heating, with underfloor heating in the bathroom and WC. The front garden features a lovely sun house with a raised sun terrace to the rear, accessed via wooden steps. NB Care needs to be taken with steep steps to the sun terrace, young children will need full supervision. There is PARKING for one car to the side of the property with more parking on roadside. Location The sandy beach at Portreath, perfect for surfing, sunbathing, kayaking and rock pooling is just a stroll away. The stream running through the village onto the beach provides many hours of amusement for the little ones as they attempt to stop its flow with various dams and forts! The coastal and woodland walks all within a short distance from Glenmount are stunning. For keen walkers there is easy access to the South West Coast Path offering dramatic vistas, or the pretty level walk along many of the mineral tramways. If you fancy a relaxing afternoon why not step straight into Illogan woods, where you'll enjoy gentle woodland walks full of birdsong. For those more adventurous amongst you, Portreath offers a whole host of water activities – from surfing, bodyboarding, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. You can try snorkelling and exploring the many rock-pools that appear at low tide. The village has a very friendly atmosphere and offers all you need for a relaxed break.More

We are exactly 100 miles from Exeter m5 Service station. Take the A30 turning at junction 30 and head west. Stay on the A30 until you see the turning for Redruth/ Portreath. We are 3 1/2 miles north west. Frome Redruth railway station you can get a taxi to Portreath for around £12 to £15 pounds.
