Fabulous lodge
Recently had the pleasure of a break at Mulberry Lodge at Skiddaw View Holiday Park....wow, what a view from the floor to ceiling feature window.
Lovely maintained Lodge with plenty of room and good facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back!

What a view!!
Mulberry lodge provided us with a beautiful base from which to explore the lakes for a few days. It was extremely comfortable (amazing sized bed!) with everything we needed to enjoy a home away from home- a real retreat return to after long and days walking. Great location and possibly the best view in the lakes- truly stunning! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Tip Top
Just spent a great weekend at Mulberry Lodge. Breathtaking scenery, very handy for Cockermouth and Bassenthwaite lake. The lodge had everything we needed: probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, great selection of books, well equipped kitchen and a bath big enough to swim in. (Not quite but not far off!) Everything was tip top but it was the view from the deck that made it one of those money-can't-buy experiences.

Stunning views
Just had a fantastic stay in this fabulous lodge. Pure comfort and luxurious inside and the view of the Skiddaw mountain range and lake Bassentwaite is stunning. I can’t wait to revisit later this year. This special place is not one to miss.

Perfect stay in every way.
We had a fabulous holiday at the splendid Mulberry Lodge Luxury Cabin. Boasting the best position on the lovely Skiddaw View Holiday Park, it has a lot of glass and a huge terrace to take in the views of Skiddaw Mountain and Bassenthwaite Lake. Stunning !
The Lodge is pristine, modern, cosy, warm, huge and perfect. It has everything. We loved staying there and would love to go again.

Beautiful lodge in perfect location
Had a fantastic stay in Mulberry lodge.
Luxurious setup. Very well appointed.
Perfect place for a cosy getaway or as a base for exploring the northern lake district.
Bathroom and kitchen standard way above what was expected. A well thought out, homely atmosphere. Will be returning!

Idyllic location with stunning lake and mountain views
Home from home on peaceful site with wonderful views of Bassenthwaite lake, Skidaw and surrounding hills. Ideal location for exploring the area. Lovely welcome of two bottles of wine and chocolates plus slippers! The lodge is well equipped with cooking utensils and crockery . The on site shop was closed during our stay but Keswick is about 6-8 miles away with good supermarkets and lots of choice of places to eat too. A visit to Bassenthwaite train station which has been transformed into a cafe using the mock up set of The orient Express from the film Murder on the Orient Express is a must , wonderful food, need to book to be seated on the train though!! Only a few small maintanance issues stop it getting top marks.

Be Aware
This is a superb lodge, beautifully presented and superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need.
The views from the lodge is truly amazing.
There is a big but , if you have any sort of mobility issue , even slightly creaky knees this lodge is not for you, the sofas and the bed are so low that they are so difficult to get up from. I have mobility problems but I can get up from chairs and beds but not here, our knees were begging for mercy!!
Apart from that problem this is a beautiful place to stay.

Perfect port in a storm.
What a joy! We spent four nights in Mulberry lodge during the torrents of Storm Aiden, limiting our adventures but making the luxury of our accommodation all the more welcome. So spacious, so comfortable - so keen to get back as soon as we can! The views of Skiddaw, ever changing with the drift of the clouds and (occasional) shafts of sunlight, was a real balm to the spirits.

The Bassenthwaite area is the ideal location if you are looking to escape the busier central Lake District but still enjoy the emense beauty of the Lake District. Also located close by are the locations of Cockermouth, Keswick and Carlisle. Bassenthwaite is also within 30 mins drive to the beautiful Solway Coast and in less than one hour from the popular central Lake District locations: Ambleside, Grasmere and Bowness on Windermere. In addition to the locations there are a number of attractions within the Bassenthwaite area including: Lake District Wildlife Park and the historic family run Mirehouse and its gardens stretching from Dodd Wood to the Bassenthwaite Lake.
