it was a lovely stay restful and the property was fabulous !
The cottage was everything that we thought it would be and more. It was beautifully appointed and there was such lovely touches such as the bedroom rugs and the forget me box.
The cottage it self is very well placed in the attractive village of Warkworth. It's not every day you are so close to a Castle. The cottage is also very well situated for getting to places like Alnwick, Amble and the Coast. It was a lovely stay would highly recommend.

Immaculate cottage with a great location and dog friendly
The cottage is really well appointed, spotlessly clean, and extremely comfortable. We have made a number of visits now and the first class standards never drop, nor have we ever had a need for anything that wasn’t already provided. It is proper dog friendly not dog tolerant as we have found some places and the location is fantastic in the beautiful village of Warkworth with four Pubs/Hotels all serving food within walking distance. We will continue to visit on a regular basis !

Fabulous cottage!
This cottage is 5* and beyond. The attention to detail from Yvonne and Robert is exceptional. Everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay is provided, so much so that you don't want to leave. But from the door, there are lovely walks around the village and beyond to the beach. There is great food to be had at the Masons Arms and a visit to Warkworth Castle is a must. If we lived closer, we'd be booking this as our regular bolthole - Ceolwulph Cottage is just perfect!

Fantastic 5* house
Ceolwulph Cottage is a superb 5* house, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Warkworth, Northumberland. Thanks to its owner, who is dedicated to making sure you have a great holiday, the place is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable and very well equipped with private, off street parking. The conservatory is a great bonus, overlooking the lovely, well kept garden. Watching the sun rise in the morning, with the geese flying overhead on their way to the sea is magical. Only a two minute walk to one of the pubs and a few minutes more to the centre of the village with its cafes, gift shops and more pubs. Easy walks to the beach and the river side. We do so hope to return again soon.

Best house we have ever rented!
Ceolwulph is such a lovely property; it really is the best we’ve stayed in: it’s immaculate and so well-stocked, plus a lovely goody basket including dog treats which our girl adored! Fantastic setting as it’s two minutes walk to the nearby pub (the Sun Inn) and to the river. Warkworth is very pretty and the castle is stunning; Amble is only a 3km walk away (or cycle or run, as there’s a proper path the whole way).

Excellent accommodation & location.
Great to receive a welcoming call from Yvonne on our arrival day. Cottage was very clean, nice facilities and had a cosy feel.
First time to this area & loved it. Perfect for Dog owners, with a lovely beach in walking distance and right by the river which also provided a nice walk.
We will be back! Thank you Yvonne.

Just as good as last time
We returned to the cottage for the 2nd time .just as clean comfortable and well equipped.
The location is ideal for exploring and just a short walk to the beach .
This time we went kayaking on the tweed and visited Alnwick gardens as well as lovely walks with our dog.
The time went so quickly and a week was not long enough to do all we wanted
Will definitely return and could not find a nicer cottage .

Awesome hosts with a great house in lovely location!
Awesome hosts, the best we've ever come across! So helpful, providing so much information and nothing was too much trouble. Well appointed lovely house, with everything you need, in Warkworth centre with access via steps, or flat along the river, to pubs and shops. Beach is approx. 1 mile either walk or drive to the beach car park which is free to park! Beautiful beaches and so much to see and do in the area, we will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Fantastic cottage
Thank you for a lovely stay. Everything was extremely clean and the information leaflets very useful. Very relaxing and the hosts were very accommodating - making sure there were no feathers in duvets/pillows in the main bedroom. Warkworth beach was an easy walk away as was Amble. Dog loved the beach.

The delightful village of Warkworth is a fabulous location for exploring the stunning Heritage Coastline, superb golden sandy beaches, historic castles, grand country houses and the rugged countryside of Northumberland.
The medieval village of Warkworth first enters recorded history in 737 when King Ceolwulph granted it to the monastery on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Standing guard over the village and beautiful River Coquet is the magnificent 12th century Warkworth Castle, once home to Dukes and Earls of Northumberland. A visit to the castle, just 2 minutes walk from Ceolwulph Cottage, makes a great day out.
Charming Warkworth village has one main street along which you'll find a Post Office and shop, friendly pubs, cafes, specialist gift shops, a gallery and chocolatiere-patisserie. A pleasant walk from the fortified Warkworth Bridge along 'Mill Walk' footpath by the beautiful River Coquet affords some spectacular views of Warkworth Castle. A further 0.5 miles along the footpath brings you to The Hermitage - a chapel carved out of the sheer rock face beside the river. In summer months, a ferryman takes visitors across the river to this unusual attraction.
A leisurely 20 minutes walk from the village towards the coast brings you to Warkworth's nine hole links golf course, sand dunes and the beach. The 3 mile long beautiful golden beach is ideal for lazy days in the sun or for lovely coastal walks with views out to Coquet Island, the protected RSPB reserve. Boat trips from nearby Amble harbour take visitors out to see the island, home to up to 35,000 nesting seabirds, including puffins, eider ducks, roseate terns, kittiwakes, oyster catchers and fulmars.
From Warkworth you can join The Coast & Castles Cycle Route and enjoy miles of beautiful coastal views. Alternatively, you can walk or drive just 4 miles up the coast to the coastal village of Alnmouth - with its gaily painted houses, Alnmouth is fondly referred to as the 'Tobermory' of Northumberland. South of Warkworth, is the 7 mile stretch of Druridge Bay and Country Park, great for sailing, kayaking and other water sports.
