This is a lovely ground floor apartment which has been converted from an Old Village Post Office. (still has the Post Box) It has a large light bedroom with wardbrobe and chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps. There is a comfy superking size bed with lovely new linen, the bed can be split into 2 full size single beds if preferred. There is a space to keep your suitcases and a large modern bathroom with walk in shower. In the lounge there is a small sofa bed really only for 1 person or 2 if a couple or small children! It is spacious and light with wonderful huge south facing window seat (perfect for reading, watching the world go by or just snoozing ! ) a smart TV and fast WiFi. Cute, but relatively unclean and needs refurbishing.
I stayed for two weeks. I loved the flat in a lot of ways, especially the window sear. The bed was comfy and although on the surface the flat looked clean, I can tell you it was not. Items had not been moved and cleaned, a lot of dust, dead flies and cobwebs. The counter in the kitchen definitely needs replacing as does that ugly cutting board, which I could not bring myself to use at all. There were lots of dishes etc. it was very cold and damp and had a difficult time figuring out the heating system. I did meet Michelle and she is a lovely person, and was very concerned when I showed her the pics I had taken. I myself, did clean the flat as I was staying there and I treat each place as if I lived there. The flat is in a great location and I would stay there again. I do believe Michelle just needs to get a new cleaner and refurbish in the kitchen a little. My favourite spot was sitting on the window seat with a coffee or a wine.... and watching the sun come up or go down. I never did make it to the pub across the road, but I did enjoy having coffee at the little coffee shop and walking through the village.

Its all in the detail
We stayed here mainly as there isn't much else locally but its quirky character also very much appealed. Good points are friendly owner, cosy, well-appointed interior, great shower and extremely comfy bed and last but not least a good pub - The Greyhound, opposite - but more about that later! Not so good points, overall cleanliness, broken loo seat we couldn't use (there was a note though!), way too many 'do's and don'ts,' especially expecting guests already paying a premium to strip the bed before leaving and threatening to charge an extra £20 if one doesn't take the rubbish out of the bin, put it in a black bag and put it outside. Although out of the owner's control, our stay was further tarnished by my coat being stolen from the pub over the road and small elephants and Pavarotti in full voice moving in upstairs to spoil the relative peace and tranquility on an albeit fairly busy road.

Thank you for taking the time to review my property, and its great that everyone agrees how comfy the bed is and shower, I have spent a lot of money ensuring a lovely night sleep ! However I would urge people reading your review to look at the other reviews left.(and my certificate of excellence) I cannot understand why you think cleanliness is an issue , I always try and check my cleaners work, which I did on this occasion and it was immaculate. I agree the toilet seat was broken (not the seat but one of the brackets ) it had just broken and the cleaner had written a note to draw your attention to it, as did not want you sliding off ! (not a problem unless very energetic !) I have had the seat repaired. It was not a 5 minute job, otherwise I would have had it done before of course.(it had just been broken) It took 2 days as I had to order a seat to exactly fit the toilet as is a good quality toilet and one of the shelf was not compatible . I am sorry if you thought too many rules, again no one else has ever mentioned this at all, and I think it is reasonable to take out your rubbish, your comments are misleading because I would not charge £20 if you hadn't stripped your beds, this was mearly to help the cleaner. It is just that on an occasions before I have had people leave all their greasy washing up still in the bowl and leave rubbish all over the floor. (I wont go into detail but it can be very eye opening !) I am sorry you had your coat stolen, seems very strange that you should feel the need to mention that in your review. It is a lovely lovely village pub and a mystery why someone would feel the need to take a coat. I had asked during your stay if I could do anything to help, and you had not replied, if I had know Pavarotti could be heard upstairs I am sure my lovely neighbour would have turned it down. Sorry but just feel I needed to reply to your points !

Warm and cosy cottage style apartment, in a friendly village
A perfect location, mid-way between Hassocks and Ditchling and only a 10 minutes walk to either. The apartment has the feel of a modernised cottage, well equipped and with sunshine pouring through the large front windows.Warm and snug during a bout of freezing weather and some snow. Michelle is absolutely delightful, hospitable and accessible without being intrusive. Having expected the parking to be challenging ... it turned out to be easy to work out where to park at different times. The road gets fairly busy at peak travel times and there is some traffic noise, but nothing that bothered me greatly. I'd definitely recommend for a short or long let.

Good Location
Great place for a weekend away. Lots in walking distance. We visited the Court Garden Vineyard, tea rooms in Ditchling. Also the Ditchling Beacon. Friendly pub opposite the post office, happy to let you park there, food good. Very helpful owner.
