- We were welcomed as true VIPs by Donny and George and felt right at home. Property is beautiful and very well maintained. All staff we encountered were kind and thoughtful and seemed to truly enjoy working at Mariposa. Donny is a very committed and experienced manager and truly cares about providing guests with a top-notch experience and hired a wonderful crew; shout out to Carlos, Moses and Gladys. Our cabana amidst the trees felt spacious for our family of four and was very clean. It had a nice deck with a hammock as well. We will be back!

Stayed in a “treehouse “ where we were greeted with fresh flowers on the bed, as well as a cute towel bird display and a/c cooled room😀. The staff was top notch and very friendly. Plan to visit again !! Little piece of heaven by the beach!!
@zenobiaj763Reviewed June 2024 - We booked a 9-day visit to Placencia, staying at Mariposa the entire time. It was our first trip to Belize. The charm of Placencia village and Mariposa made this a memorable trip! The resort setting is beautiful, with constantly changing waterfront views. The accommodations are spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the property is impeccably maintained. We originally booked a treehouse, but due to the construction of additional new treehouses, we were offered a large room in the main building as an alternative. This was a pleasant surprise, as the room was waterfront and had its own private balcony. We arrived via Placencia airport, and Mariposa provided transportation from and back to the airport on our departure. Throughout our visit, the staff was helpful in making any arrangements we needed for a pleasant trip. The pool and beach are beautiful and relaxing. The Breezeway Restaurant food is excellent, and we think that it is the best we had in Placencia. The staff are exceptional, with everyone so friendly and eager to help make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Special recognition goes to Gladis S., who goes out of her way, every day, to ensure a pleasant stay for all with her friendly smile, engaging sense of humor, energy and delightful conversation. Our expectations were exceeded, and we look forward to a future visit.

The staff was so accommodating, friendly, and just hands down beyond amazing. Mariposa truly has the best team of people, we felt like family…I cried when we left… we will be back soon!! Hot weather, perfect sized pool for cooling off. Top notch food and drinks, I’m going to regret all I ate now that I’m home!! I would definitely recommend the shrimp ceviche, the Mayan cooked fish, shrimp spring rolls, shrimp toast.. as you can tell we ate well!! :) all the drinks were fabulous as well, we would recommend the Cadillac margaritas, Caribbean mule, the pink butterfly drink, and the double d shot!! We rented a golf cart from captain Jacks, they dropped it off at our hotel for easy convenience. We also took maya air from BZE to Placencia, quick easy ride maybe 30 min. Town is about a 10 min ride due to all the darn speed bumps! There are so many places to grab a drink and bite! KB, Moises, Donny, Ricky, and Carlos - thank you so much for making us feel like family. And thank you for all the wonderful recommendations on good spots to hit. The tree top rooms were amazing, comfortable beds and cold A/C. They kept them clean and the fridge stocked with beverages. I would definitely recommend you book your stay here. The food was incredible, zero complaints. One of the cool things about Mariposa is that there are not a bunch of rooms, it’s much more personable and you get more privacy.
