- From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by this resort. Upgrading to Preferred was a good decision. The private lounge with premium liquor choices was very nice. All the food fantastic, no reservations needed at restaurants. The small touches like sunglass cleaning by the pool and the fruit cart made this place really special. Roberto, our concierge, was so amazing! He really made our stay. He remembered our names, made sure everything was ok everytime we walked by him. Sent us daily schedules of activities at the resort. We loved that this resort was quiet, being adults only. Even though it was quiet, there was alot to do if you wanted to. I would most definitely go to this resort again, hands down.

We had a romantic dinner on the beach with Efrain. Janet the wine concierge was so informative. Our room concierge Roberto in building 25 was awesome. He made our stay memorable.

The food was beyond what I was expecting when it comes to an all inclusive resort. The restaurants, bars and grounds are kept so clean.
@E4118HUjoebReviewed October 2024 - Overall, we love Maroma! This was our second visit - we came 10 years ago on our honeymoon (pre-Hyatt). There were some differences (of course, 10 yrs is a long time). Many more prompts to upsell (in each restaurant, the spa, throughout the property), and the drinks weren’t anything great or memorable - which wasn’t the case previously. But the food is amazing, beach is beautiful, and we love that Maroma has an overall serene vibe. Some specifics: PREFERRED CLUB - not worth it. You check-in in a separate building that isn’t nearly as nice as the lobby, the wait there is looong if you ever need anything, and the special restaurant isn’t anything special. The bar is dark and small. And they hit you hard with a sales pitch at check-in. However, our concierge Luis Garcia was amazing. He was so attentive, genuine, and on top of things. He made up for all the other annoyances, and preferred club members are lucky to be in his building. BEACH/POOL - all well maintained and beautiful. Only con - they no longer enforce the ‘no saving chairs’ policy. So during our whole stay, there were groups of people that would reliably come down At about 6am and reserve the chairs along the infinity pool (just by putting down their books, towels, a water bottle). And they wouldn’t show up to use them till ~10 am. We thought it was such a nice touch that they wouldn’t allow that the first time we came to Maroma. FOOD/BEV - amazing. I’m an adventurous eater but my expectations are pretty high, and I love this place. Each restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Sushi at Himitsu is my personal fave. But even the World Cafe buffet has excellent options. Food is one of the main reasons we love Maroma specifically (we’ve been to other Secrets where the food didn’t come anywhere close ). ENTERTAINMENT - we aren’t big on all the shows and games, but we watched a couple. They do a really nice job of always keeping entertainment available and making people aware. GYM - the single most humid room on this property, and they have some broken machines. It’s usable, but they’re definitely just checking a box. However the gym staff is excellent. SERVICE - overall, the staff here is phenomenal. Everywhere you look, servers and staff are on top of EVERYTHING. It’s like they can hear your thoughts and know you might need a drink or your plate is empty. Just incredible. Last note, we were at Maroma during hurricane Milton and you’d never know it. A couple brief storms, but otherwise, gorgeous!

The last time we visited this resort we were given floats for each swim out. I was sad that this was no longer the case at this resort. I mentioned this to Guillermo our butler for our building and he ensured that we had a float every day in our swim out. It is the little things like this that make me happy. I was surprised Guillermo was not a preferred club butler because he gave us such good service. This is just one example of why this resort is top notch! I’ll be back!!
