The hot springs found in Ourense are called the Burgas, and these are very famous. They have a temperature of 67C. They are medicinal and are the symbols of the city. The Romans were the first to use these thermal springs. The oldest spring is called the Burga de Arriba, which is a fountain from the 17th century. The Burga de Abajo dates from the 19th century and has the Neoclassic style, with three bodies and corresponding jets of water. There is a small park adjacent to this Burga.
