Foresta, Yosemite

Foresta is a small subdivision located within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. It is just off Hwy 120 about 3 miles west of the Hwy 140 and Hwy 120 junction in Yosemite Valley. At a altitude of 4,200' (Yosemite Valley is 4,000') it offers mild summer days with cool evening breezes. During the winter it is mostly snow free but when Yosemite Valley has snow there will be snow in Foresta.

There are over 40 private homes located here, many are summer vacation homes, but there are also over a dozen daily vacation rentals. There are no other services here with the nearest store and restaurants in Yosemite Valley, 10 miles away. A small grocery store and gas station are found at Crane flat just 6 miles north on Hwy 120.

Foresta is known for the large meadow, Big Meadow, that is very prominent from Hwy 120 as one descends down into Yosemite Valley. On the edge of Big Meadow one will find 2 old historical barns that were part of the old ranch that operated in the early 1900's.
