The Visitor's Center located on 23 America's Cup Avenue offers $2, all-day parking for ticket stub holders of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA).

Public Transportation

From Memorial Day through Columbus Day Weekend, RIPTA trolleys depart from the Visitor's Center (23 America's Cup Avenue). For more information, call (401) 781-9400.

  • Trolley service on the Yellow Line (Rt. 67) to the mansions, Bellevue Avenue shopping, the Cliff Walk, Rough Point and more.
  • All day pass costs: $6 individual, group (max. 4) $18 [thus, $4.50 a person]

Sightseeing Tours

  • By Land: Viking Tours offers several packages of sightseeing tours by trolley, from a scenic overview of Newport to a tour of the mansions, lasting between one and a half and four hours. For prices and times, click here.
  • By Sea: Viking Tours also offers harbor cruises aboard the 140-passenger Viking Queen, which sails through mid-October. For prices and times, click here. Note that a RIPTA ticket stub entitles the user to $2.00 off the price of a one-hour cruise.
