Benahavis is a beautiful, relatively unspoilt white mountain village, with lovely views, about 7km inland from the coastal towns of Marbella and Estepona. You'll require a car or taxi to get there, as there is only one bus per day, to/from the village. It's a quiet village, particularly noted for the quality of it's restaurants and is not suitable for families seeking commercial entertainment (discos, noisy bars, clubs etc). There is a communal village swimming pool (and one or two communal pools linked to complexes) It can get very hot during the peak Summer months, so be sure stay hydrated when exploring the surrounding area. Although the main river, the Rio Guadalmina, is now dammed, there are still opportunities to explore the river bed, with it's rock pools and landrover trips can be arranged in the mountains behind Benahavis. It's a village to relax in, to chill out, to socialise and to eat good food. Enjoy !
