Vaughn's Lounge is a funky local Blues and Jazz Club in a New Orleans neighborhood just minutes from the French Quarter, but miles away for improved music quality. For out of towners, take a cab to and from the club; the bartenders will call a cab for you when ready top leave. The club is small in size but big in music, especially on Thursday nights after 10:30 when local legend Kermit Ruffins plays his trumpet with his five piece band - they are incredible; their first set can go over 90 minutes. Vaughn's is now open post- Katrina. So do them a favor and visit and spend a few bucks (drinks are cheap) and do yourself a favor and treat yourself to good music and visit with the locals. By the way, go to the side door and ring the buzzer to get in. This is not a fancy club, it is a local lounge with great music.
