Did you know that Chillicothe was the first capital of Ohio?
The town was the site of the state constitutional convention in 1802 and served as the seat of state government between 1803, when Ohio was admitted to the Union, and 1810 when the government shifted to Zanesville. Chillicothe also served as the capital between 1812 and 1816.
