The worst time to visit would be in the month of July or August because it is so humid and hot. If you are not used to a place that has unbearable humidity in the summertime, come in the spring. The pear blossoms are in bloom and line up and down Caroline Street, where most of the shops and the visitor center are located. **February and March can be snowy.

There would be a few "best times":

  • Early January when (for the past few years) there's been some oddly mild weather after week one, before week three, added plus- no crowds.
  • Spring- 2nd week of April hrough May and in to early June. Spring blossoms, great weather.
  • Mid-September through Thanksgiving -the weather is more temperate and the changing autumn leaves are a large plus.
  • The City of Fredericksburg proper (Old Town/The Historic District) is equally charming and quaint over the holidays.
