Downtown Dayton offers many shopping destinations, most of which are easily accessible from most downtown hotels. The Second Street Public Market is a great place to grab a bite and shop for everything from flowers to jewelery. The historic Oregon District offers great architecture as well as one of a kind shops such as Gem City Records. Other places of interest include antique shops, bookstores, and houseware stores.

The Dayton area is home to Prime Outlets Jeffersonville. I’m not a big fan of outlets, and usually they aren’t much of a deal, but Jeffersonville (a 30 minute drive from Dayton) contains a Pottery Barn-Williams Sonoma outlet that is incredible! It’s worth the drive.

Local malls and department stores

There are many typical shopping malls in the area. These include the Mall at Fairfield Commons and the Dayton Mall, as well as the freestanding Elder-Beerman Department Store.
