Princevill Lilly Pond      Ocean view      Princeville entrance

Princeville is on the north side of Kauai, the northern most island in the Hawaiian chain, other than Ni’ihau which is off limits to tourists. The north side of the island is lush and green year round and offers many outdoor activities and attractions as well as quiet getaways.

Princeville proper is a mixture of upscale single-family homes, condos and timeshare condominium projects. The streets are quiet and the full, tropical landscape gives homes and condo units the feeling of privacy. The entire neighborhood is beautifully landscaped to keep in step with the areas reputation for fine living.

The Princeville Golf Clubs offer 45 challenging holes of golf and are ranked the finest in Hawaii. However, this is the wet side of the island which means that the weather changes quickly and often, so come prepared for afternoon showers. Foliage growth is lightning fast in the tropical setting. Consequently, the perfectly manicured courses can sometimes seem a bit casual.  But the experience here is in the breathtaking views, the relaxing atmosphere and the unbeatable year round weather.

Near the entrance to Princeville is a small shopping center - small by big city standards - which includes a well-stocked grocery store, Real Estate offices, boutiques and of course Lapperts Ice Cream. There is also a breakfast/coffee/smoothie, fast-food-style cafe, named North Shore General Store, which offers an eclectic, healthier food menu. They can be found inside the Chevron Station on the corner.

Princeville is situated on a large cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The condos adjacent to the cliffs have fabulous views. There is no beach front access from the street here - you have to walk down one of a number of paths to secluded spots - or ride the elevator down at the St. Regis Hotel; however Hanalei Bay is just two miles away by car.
