Lummi Island is a quiet little island in the San Juans. It is very laid back and mostly undeveloped.  There are several beaches, most of which are protected areas managed by the Department of Natural Resources, and some of which are accessible only by kayak or boat.  There are abundant opportunities for birdwatching and whale watching.  While you can often spot whales from shore, you may also wish to go on a fishing or whale watching trip, such as those offered by Outer Island Expeditions.
