Fort Worth has a surprisingly decent nightlife for a smaller city. The downtown area is safe, clean and very convenient. There are a lot of great restaurants and bars within a few blocks. The Flying Saucer ( ) is a great low-key bar with tons of beers on tap and they have live local musicians a few nights a week (also check out their pint specials). 8.0’s ( ) is another great spot that often has live music. It has a large patio that gets packed in the warmer weather. If you’re looking for a fun dance club, City Streets is the best option. It has different themed rooms with a 70s/80s, Top 40, Dueling Piano and a Pool room ( ). My last favorite place to mention is the Library ( ). It’s a nice roomy bar with excellent drink specials every night.

If the weather is nice, the rooftop bar at Reata (310 Houston) is great.  Reata is Spanish for Rope and is the name of the ranch in the James Dean Movie "Giant".  Also in the building is an improvisational comedy troupe called "Four Day Weekend".  For upscale entertainment, Fort Worth boasts the last great performance hall built in the twentieth century - the Bass performance hall.  It has been host to artists from Carol Burnett to the musical Les Miserables to B.B. King.  Check out what's coming at
