North Myrtle Beach is a Grand Strand town that specifically tailors most of its travel businesses towards families. Most of the beaches are impeccably clean so that children can play safely in the sand. Many shopping and entertainment experiences invite families for a fun vacation without the full-fledged science fiction of Disney World.

A family trip to North Myrtle is incomplete without at least one miniature golf excursion. Mayday Golf is a self-proclaimed "best miniature golf in North Myrtle Beach." It is located along Route 17 with other family travel options. The motif of the course is an airplane with a sudden emergency. Depending on how well visitors play, they can end up safe and sound, or deserted on an island.

Broadway at the Beach is the largest family attraction in North Myrtle Beach. Stand beside astronauts as they land on the moon or face a natural disaster on the 6 story, wide screen. After a movie, families have the opportunity to stretch their legs at the NASCAR Speedpark. The speedpark is cluster of race tracks for all levels. Arcade games, bumper boats, and more golf can occupy younger relatives or parents who do not wish to speed.

Return to the shore, but actually see what is going on beneath the surface. Ripley's Aquarium is an 87,000 foot environment for aquatic life. The longest glidepath in the world is the prominent feature at Ripley's. Surround the family with an 750,000 gallon tank where 10 foot sharks submerge themselves into the deepest areas of the ocean.
