Great Restaurants on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head offers a number of great restaurant choices.  Whether you want finger-lickin' BBQ or a nice meal accompanied by jazz it can be found here.

 Alfred's - A Small intimate restaurant run by one of Hilton Head's most reknowned chefs. Menu and cuisine are continental with some emphasis on German dishes.

One Hot Mama's -  Features BBQ - owner Orchid was a competitor on Next Food Network Star (2011). Portions are quite large, and Orchid welcomes guests whenever she's on site. Fun restaurant. Great food.

 

Alexanders - Patio view of a lagoon

Alligator Grille- Fantastic Seafood and Sushi - wonderfully friendly yet intimate atmosphere! 

 

 Boathouse Grill - SERG Managed  New Menu - very popular

 

Chart House - Also on Port Royal Sound - Watch the tide on Broad Creek

 

Charlies - French Provincial

 Claude and Ulli's - in Moss Creek village just off the island. Owners formally ran Le Normandie

 

CQ's - Dine in a haunted house, also has Game entrees

 

Cranes - Best Steakhouse on HH

 

Bella Italia - Great Pizza - In Port Royale Plaza

 

EAT! Food Channel chef Robert Irvine's restaurant - specialties are Tapas appetizers. Interesting mix of tastes. example Filet mignon combined with duck - Pricey but a must for foodies. 

 

Fiesta Fresh for great Mexican, breakfast, lunch, dinner with 8-10 excellent sauces/salsas (mild to HOT) 51 New Orleans Ave, one block north of Pope.  There is also a branch at Port Royal Plaza.

 

Frankie Bones - Italian with an attitude

 

 Gruby's Del, at the Fresh Market Shop. You can get great large sandwiches here. Offers traditional Jewish style menu including tongue, fresh brisket and Chopped Liver. Best Deli between NYC and Miami.

 

Harold's Diner, rated by many "Best Burger on the Island": 1/2 lb. with everything $5.75. Small place with one counter and a chance to mix with the locals.

 

Hinchey's Chicago Sports Pub. It is across the street from Coligny Plaza and has awesome burgers and dogs. Has moved to 37 Forest beach Drive.

 

Hinoki - Japanese Restaurant owned by Tokyo investors. "They do Teriyaki Right." Good Food with great Views

 

Java Joes for good coffee.

 

Jazz Corner has some of the most popular local bands playing nightly. They include the Earl Williams quartet, and Bobby Ryder, who played for years at the Hilton.

 

Kenny B's in the south end Bi-Lo shopping center  – A tiny little Cajun joint with delicious po boys and jambalaya.

Mangiamo offers pizza in a sports bar type atmosphere. Dedicated to the Big Ten, particularly Ohio State, this place is fun and the food is good. Prices are reasonable.  

 

Marley's is a great place to eat. They have an attentive wait staff, a great early bird menu, and terrific food. Everything, including the decor, is just different enough to be enjoyable. New Management spring 2010

 

Michael Anthony's - Upscale Italian with a great wine list.

 

 Mi Terria - The locals favorite Mexicn Restaurant. In back of the Fairfield Square Shopping center. This restaurant is patronized by locals and the area hispanic population.

 

New York Pizza is the closest to the type of pizza eaten in NY.

 

NOSH in Tanger2 Shopping Center off island in Bluffton. Robert Irvine's newest restaurant in the area. Not as pricey as "Eat".

 

Old Fort Pub - Views of Port Royal Sound

Pino Gelato - Offering excellent gelato, Italian ice cream, with intense, unusual flavors... and some of the regular flavors too. Hilton Head small business of the year 2010. Also offers a pizza cone for those who want a quick, quirky dinner.

 

RedFish - Pick up your own wine from the wine store on premises, Cuban flavor

 

Reilleys Sports Bar – rub elbows with some ex coaches and players, Bobby Cremins, Chuck Noll, Mark Meissier have been known to hang out here.

 

Sage Room: Great food

 

Santa Fe - Upscale Tex-Mex

 

Sea Shack - very little Ambience, but you can't beat the food.

 

SeaGrass - Fresh Fish prepared many ways

 

Skillets in Coligny plaza has the best breakfast and Bloody Mar

 

The Smokehouse - great southern BBQ. They use a wonderful dry rub on their ribs.

 


Wild Wings - Can't go wrong with these wings: Chicken Wings 100 ways

 Il Carpaccio - Located in Pineland Mall - Features authentic Tuscan menu - Also has authentic Italian style pizza.
