When traveling through a small, rural community such as Kane, you need to try the down-home cooking that the area is best known for.  Two must-haves in the Kane area is the "Texas Hot Lunch" diner on Field St., right off the main drag of PA Rt. 6/Fraley St. close to the center of town.   Great, hearty breakfasts, but most renowned for their "texas hot" sauce on great old-fashioned grilled burgers and dogs.

The other favorite of locals is outside of Kane heading West on Route 6 at Lantz Corners, which is literally 8-10 miles west of Kane at a major 4-way intersection of PA Rts 6 and 219.    Here you will find DeSio's Restaurant with undoubtedly the best Pennsylvania Fish Fry, fried fish, fries and slaw.   A western PA staple on Friday nights.  DeSio's also serves traditional Italian fare in a comfortable family environment.   The bar, located in the same building but separately from the dining area of the restaurant, is great for a take-out pizza and other sandwiches and bar food items.   You will not go away mad or hungry from either!
