Salem has exceptional parks for those who love hiking with beautiful sceneries and well mantained trails. Some of the parks that you can include in your list are:

- Silver Falls State Park. Explore the famous Trail of the Ten Falls/Canyon Trail that will take you to a majestic journey along ten waterfalls to a true rain forest. With more than 25 miles of trails, some are adeuate for horse riding as well as hiking. Vistors can spend the night on the grounds camping, in your Rvs or at the cabins (you need ot make reservations in advance at 1-800-452-5687). Champoeg State Heritage Park is ideal for hiking and also has the camping and RV facilities (there also cabins that you can rent for overnight stay). This park is also a museum as it was the site of Oregon's first provisional government in the mid 19th century. Hikers can walk the park on their own or join any of the tours and special programs. Some of the tours include the Historic Manson Framstead, the historic Old Champoeg Townsite, Nature Walks and bicycle tours. The park also hosts special programs for kids.

In town, Salem boasts some parks with a beautiful scenery where travelers can hike: Salem's Riverfront Park, Minto-Brown Island park, and Wallace Marine Park Softball Complex.
