The charming sea resort town of Cape May is full of tourist shops and deluxe boutiques alike. As America's sea resort town, you can expect some great shopping.

The most popular place to begin any shopping tour in Cape May is at the Washington Street Mall. Hardly the typical mall idea one may conjure from the word, the Washington Street mall is an outdoor walkway lined with restaurants, art galleries, jewelry, toys, candy shops, and speciality boutiques. Most locals will tell you not to leave without a sampling of fudge from The Original Fudge Kitchen. The Whale's Tale is a favorite for jewelry, Christmas decorations, toys and cards while A Touch of Sweden provides cultural pieces from the country's homeland. But, If it's books you're after, do not fear, there are 7 booksellers in this mall. It's virtually impossible to leave this place empty-handed. FYI: pets are NOT allowed on the Mall.

Shopping also radiates from the Mall. At the south end of the mall, head north to Bank Street for gifts at Mariahs. Don't forget to check out the dresses at Miss Demeanor.

With all the water sports you may be doing while visiting Cape May, you may need to stock up on supplies. For this, head to Cape May Water Sports on Wilson Drive. You can clean up after your day in the ocean with homemade bath products by Bath Time on Jackson Street which carries about everything you may need in the toiletry department.
