Frankenmuth's answer to a Biergarten, The Fisher Platz is an outdoor summer Bier Garten with free entertainment and dancing immeditaely North of the Bavarian Inn & directly under the Glockenspiel . Stop have a drink (no purchase required though) and dance the polka. They open for Memorial Weekend and stay open through the end of September. They even perform with local legend Linda Lee on accordian or other polka hall of fame acts on weekdays all summer long.
Only quiet in the Fischer Plats if it is raining!
It is named the "Fischer Platz" after the original restauranteurs who developed the restaurants, the Fischer family. The Fischer family sold the restaurant to the Zehnder family in the early 1950's. The Zehnder's ran it as Fischer Hotel for a few years and President Tiny Zehnder decided to remodel it to look bavarian... the rest of the town followed! Today, Zehnder "cousins" in their 3rd and 4th generation run Zehnder's and Bavarian Inn as friendly competitor restaurants!
The Fischer Platz serves draft and bottled bier including the famous Hof Brau Beer from Munich Germany. Nothing like a fresh baked pretzel and beer while listening to polka music!
