Summertime in Provincetown is a fantastic place to enjoy the great outdoors. Aside from a bevy of beachside activities—the requisite swimming, Frisbee and football—there are plenty of outdoor pastimes to keep you moving and help you work off that fantastic breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Don’t forget to bring your bike out to P-Town—the Provinceland Bike Trail in Cape Cod National Seashore is an extensive network of paths, great for both beginners and expert cyclists. And don’t worry about falling behind, a slower pace is perfect for taking in the incredible scenery along the way.

If you want to take the leisurely pace to the extreme, perhaps you’re best off with fishing. And if you’re a fisherman, this former fishing village is still home to some of the best sportfishing on the Cape.

As for spectator sports, there are a number of annual events that bring out P-Town’s sportier side, and for a good cause. Every year in June, Provincetown hosts the Tennis for Life Tournament and in September two more events, the Swim for Life and the Great Schooner Race and Regatta always draw healthy crowds who have health in mind.
