Cohasset is a pretty residential town, but here are some great things to do:

  • Stroll through "the Village", Cohasset's bustling 2-block "downtown - it's very quaint and filled with cute shops and restaurants.
  • Go to the beach - most are private, but Sandy Beach is open to the public and often sports an old fashioned ice cream truck
  • Take a walk and look at historic houses - while McMansions are sadly popping up, there are still many gorgeous old houses to see.  Cohasset has been host to many movies as a result of it's classic New England feel.
  • Venture over to Hingham for more shopping.
  • Visit Nantasket Beach - formerly home to Paragon Park and still host to the antique carousel, arcades and ice cream vendors.
  • If you can find someone to get you out on the water - do it!  Cohasset has a gorgeous seashore for sailing or boating.  Spy on some of the mansions along the water or take a spin out to Minot's Light - a classic lighthouse not far from shore.
  • Best breakfast: Atlantic Bagel in the Village. No frills, no table service, best darn coffee and bagel sandwiches anywhere.
  • South Shore Arts Festival - third weekend in June - is a must - great art; diverse, quality vendors; great Strawberry Shortcake Festival; good local music.
