The city of Lake Charles is served by a limited public bus system
According to the city's website, service goes only Monday-Friday from 5:45 a.m. - 5:45 p.m., with a terminal located downtown on Bilbo Street. Fortunately, visitors should still be able to get around fairly well. There are four or five taxi companies operating in Lake Charles, and the heavily touristed beach area is pedestrian friendly and boasts a boardwalk area. People heading into and out of the city should also have few problems, with Interstate 10 located only minutes away from Lake Charles and with a variety of national transportation companies, including Greyhound, Amtrak and various airlines, serving the city.
