By plane: Travelers can reach the area via the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport ( http://www.flywichita.com/). Upon arrival: Upon reaching the airport, travelers can rent a car from one of eight local car companies with offices at the airport. By car: Travelers coming from the airport will use US Highway 54 / 400 to exit the airport area and head to their hotel destination. The airport is located on the southwest side of the city, so most travelers will be heading northeast from the airport. Travelers coming from other United States locations via car will also likely arrive via the same highway. Interstate 35 (the Kansas Turnpike) and its side-highways, 135 and 235, are also used to reach the area.By train: Travelers can reach the Wichita area by train. Amtrak ( www.amtrak.com ) has a train station located in Newton, approximately a twenty minute drive from Wichita.
