Who doesn't love a good festival? And lucky for you, there are plenty of good ones to experience in Bloomington, especially during the summer. Events to choose from include:

Third Sunday Market -- held every third Sunday during the months between April and November, the market features plenty of antiques, handicrafts, and collectibles available for purchase from over 450 exhibitors.

Illinois Shakespeare Festival -- held annually between June and August, this festival features performances Shakespeare plays. The Festival is held outdoors at the beautiful Ewing Manor where dinner and drinks are served before the plays, or people bring their own picnics and sit on the grounds. Beforehand, musicians stroll around for entertainment. Also beforehand, there's usually a Green Show, which is a free preview play that is linked to the evening performance The festival is organized by Illinois State University's Theatre Department, but many of the lead performers are professionals. A family friendly show, performed by ISU students, is given on Saturday mornings. This is held outdoors in the grass and is usually free. The three Shakespeare plays are performed in an outdoor stage in the round with comfortable seating and fans to cool the audience on hot nights. On rainy nights, performances are held on the ISU campus.

Glorious Garden Festival -- held annually the third weekend of June, this event features garden tours throughout the community, and a two-day free festival on the grounds of the historic David Davis Mansion.

First Fridays -- held in Downtown Bloomington the first Friday of every month. Artists open up their studios, local galleries are open late, and area restaurants have specials. The events are held in the evenings. Highlights are the Tour de Chocolate in February and the Once Upon a Holiday/Window Vignettes in December.

Champagne British Car Show -- held the first weekend in June on the grounds of the historic David Davis Mansion. Owners of British cars hold a rally at the Mansion. Cars range from MGs, Mini Coopers, Aston-Martins, and more. The event includes music and lunch offered by area Boy Scouts.

Fourth of July Fireworks -- held in Miller Park. The fireworks show is usually preceded by a local patriotic musical pageant. Fireworks are shot simultaneously with neighboring town Normal. Music accompaniment by WJBC-AM.

Bruegla -- held at the Bloomington Center for Performing Arts. For more than 15 years, the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees has held a beer tasting event accompanied by food and music. Proceeds go to numerous charities.

Spring Bloom Arts Festival -- a juried show of fine art and craft featuring eighty exhibitors from across the nation in a variety of disciplines. Held at the Interstate Center in April.
