Located at the intersection of US 41 and University Parkway, the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is the closest location for flying into Sarasota. Continental, Delta, Air Tran, US Airways, Northwest, regional airlines such as Florida Coastal, Cape Air

and international carriers such as Canadian Canjet, Alitalia and Air France fly into this airport.

At the terminal, everything is at short walking distance, the parking lot, check-in counters, security screening and the departure gates with thirteen jet bridges.

If you want to have more arrival and departure options, you can fly into Tampa International Airport. You will surely get a better airfare. Tampa is about one hour and half north of Sarasota and five miles west of downtown Tampa. It is known as one of the top ten airports in the country due to its great architectural design that creates a travel friendly environment. It feels like a hospitable and safe community specially if you need to wait for your connecting flight at one of its ample lounges.

You can always drive to Sarasota that is about 5 to 6 hours from the Florida-Georgia line. I-75 is the primary route coming from the north. If you prefer I-95, take it to Daytona Beach; and then follow I-4 to I-75 before heading south. You can also drive west from Miami across the Everglades.
