There are many, many museums located in the Palm Beach area. While some may be a slight drive, the following come highly recommended:

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens: For anyone who enjoys looking at spectacular sculptures, this is the place to visit. The sculptures are placed around the home where sculptor Ann Weaver Norton lived. The land surrounding the house is almost two acres large and contains many tropical plants and trees as well as about 100 sculptures. The home itself is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Boca Raton Museum of Art: This art museum is classified as contemporary and has several thousand pieces in its collection. There is a variety of different artistic mediums included in the exhibits.

DuBois Pioneer Home: This is a home that was built in the very late 1800s and is located on a Native American site. It’s only open a few days a week, so check the schedule before planning a visit here.

South Florida Science Museum: This is a great museum to visit for adults and children. It has many hands-on exhibits and is entertaining and educational at the same time. The museum also features an aquarium, laser concerts and an observatory. Tickets must be purchased in advance for some of the shows, so check the museum’s website for details.
