Clearwater has many outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy. Bring/rent bikes or even rollerblades and you can ride/glide along the 34 mile Pinellas Trail. For more information on the trail visit

However, Florida is also known for its unpredictable weather. So when it rains in the afternoon, be sure to have some plans in your back pocket.

If you enjoy camping on or near the water, check out Fort DeSoto Park.  This is consistently ranked one of the top beaches in the United States, and you can just day-trip there, or park your tent or RV for a night or more. Advance reservations highly recommended.

Then there is the Florida Botanical Gardens, this is 182 acres of nature at its best with Florida native plants, exotic tropicals, and of course wildlife.

For a more in-depth and guided experience with Florida nature visit Weedon Island Preserve.

Try AirHeads Trampoline Arena- a huge, indoor trampoline arena with open jumping, dodgebal, basketball, fitness classes and an arcade. Admission is free, you only have to pay to jump.

All of the above are located in Pinellas County and within minutes from Clearwater.
