Cape Canaveral isn’t the place you go for a busy and active nightlife, full of club hopping and fancy bars. You can, however, get a decent meal here, head to bed early and enjoy the crash of the waves.
But if you want a little of the nightlife throw in with your more quiet getaway, there are a few options.
True to its location on the water and its gulf location, you can take a nighttime casino cruise from Port Canaveral. Check out Victory Casino Cruises, a completely renovated, 40,000 square foot, 1200 passenger capacity ship, offering all your favorite casino games and a Sports Book with Vegas style betting. You can head out at 11 a.m. for a day cruise, but for the “nightlife” component, head out on the 7 p.m. cruise, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset while you cruise.
If you'd rather dine, you can get some good seafood at Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar at Coco Beach and enjoy some live entertainment. Another great place to go late night is Papa Vito's. It is a hot spot for
astronauts, locals, film crews and much more. They offer late night specials (open till 1:30 am).
Some locals recommend heading to the port and watching the cruise ships. If it’s a day when a cruise ship is leaving port, you can enjoy the spectacle of that.
Hogan's Irish Bar is also always a great night out in the Cape Canaveral area. Right on A1A and open late 7 nights of the week with great live music on the weekends, this family run authentic Irish bar does great drink specials and always has a really friendly atmosphere and vibe to it.
If you want more active nightlife, some recommend driving to Orlando for the evening, since the drive is not too long and relatively easy. Just be sure to have a designated driver or drink little yourself.
