Connecticut Tigers (Baseball Team): The Connecticut Tigers are a minor league baseball team located in Norwich, Connecticut. They are members of the New York–Penn League (NYPL). The Connecticut Tigers are a Short-Season A classification affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play their home games at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Norwich Golf Course at 685 New London Turnpike: One of New England's top golf courses open to the public, opened back in 1925. In 1978 it was purchased by the City of Norwich making it a public course.
Norwich Municipal Ice Rink at 641 New London Turnpike: The center features an NHL regulation size ice surface, four locker rooms, conference/party room, concession stand and a pro shop. The rink is the home of the Norwich Skating School, Norwich Figure Skating Club, Southeastern Connecticut Youth Hockey, Norwich Icebreakers Junior Hockey Team, Norwich Rose City Warriors (Women's Ice Hockey), Norwich Free Academy Wildcat Hockey, Saint Bernard Hockey and Saint Thomas More Hockey. Slater Memorial Museum at 108 Crescent Street in Norwich, CT: Created by a donation William A Slater back in 1884 to honor his father John Fox Slater (businessman, corporator of Norwich Free Academy, and gave the largest given known to education in that time). The building housed a musuem and art gallery and was designed in the Richardson Romanesque Style. The museum includes one of three largest remain plaster cast collections in the world as well as art from all over the world. Leffingwell House Museum in Norwich, CT: The home of revolutionary patriot, merchant and industrialist Christopher Leffingwell has been completly restored. The home started as two room when it was built in 1675 and by the mid 1700's had been transformed into the elegant home of one of CT's most famous patriots.
Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center in Mashantucket, CT (Located 5 minutes from Foxwoods Resort Casino & 8 miles from Downtown Norwich): The museum is the world's largest Native American musuem and research center and features four full acres of permanent exhibits that show 18,000 years of history.
