When visiting New London, the traveler will find no time to get bored. Spring and summer are popular times to visit the New London, CT area to enjoy the pleasant weather where the Thames River meets Long Island Sound. History abounds, but New London is not just dry, dusty museums.
If you happen to be in September, don't miss Books, Brushes, Jazz & Blue Festival. The festival includes an art show, readings by local writers and music shows hosted by clubs and restaurants. Visitors will listen the best jazz and blue artists as the sun sets on the Historic Waterfront District.
