Hands-on living history museum located adjacent to the driveway of the national natural historic site Garden of the Gods. Visitors walk on gravel and dirt paths from one historic shelter to another; each shelter represents a different time period in Colorado Springs history. Visitors learn what daily life was like, how homes were built, where food and other items were gathered, made, or purchased. Museum guides, dressed in period dress, introduce your imagination to what it was like to live in a variety of homes during the last 300 years in the Colorado Springs area: a native American teepee & shelter, a log cabin, a farm house, blacksmith shop, woodworking shop, and mansion.
