The Domaine Chandon winery is my favorite in the area.  The first time we visited here, I couldn’t put the camera away!  Koi ponds, bridges, gorgeously landscaped grounds and fountains all make for great photo opportunities while visiting here.  There is a small gift shop,a tasting salon where you can take your tastings out to a sunny terrace and a fine restaurant.

We like to go for lunch here and dine out on the back patio while taking in the beauty of the gorgeous property.  For lunch try the warm bean salad or the Prince Edward Island Mussels.  A favorite entree is the striped bass or the foie gras risotto.  Desserts are rich and perfectly prepared by the pastry chef.  Go for the chocolate crepe or the trio of tropical sorbets, all of which are beautifully presented.

Domaine Chandon is famous for their sparkling wines and champagne but also produces a very nice Pinot Noir.  You could easily spend an afternoon here tasting the bubbly, having lunch and lingering around the gardens and grounds.  Be sure to check out the artwork here, especially the group of stone mushrooms in the gardens.

Domaine Chandon is a must for those visiting this quaint and upscale area of the Napa Valley.
