In March, the Desert AIDS Walk benefits the Desert AIDS Project, while one of the world's largest organized gathering of Lesbians -- the DinahShore Weekend (www.clubskirts.com) -- coincides with the LPGA's Kraft Nabisco Championship in March. The Predominantly Male White Party (www.jeffreysanker.com), the area's largest circuit party event, takes place Easter weekend. Greater Palm Spring Pride occurs the first weekend in November, with a parade and 2-day cultural fair (tel. 760/416-8711;www.pspride.org).
Tennis is big in the desert. There are 3 international gay and lesbian tournaments throughout the year www.GLTA.net. The local gay tennis organisation www.deserttennis.us/ organises a range of activities. Visitors are welcome.
Palm Springs has More than Twp Dozen Gay Hotels; Many are concentrated on Warm Sands Drive south of Ramon. Others are Located throughout Palm Springs in Excellent Locations Not Far From Downtown and All the Excellent Attractions Palm Springs Has to Offer. Known simply as "Warm Sands," this area is home to many of the Private Resorts -- mostly discreet, gated inns, many of them clothing-optional. Look for them in the Hotel and Other Sections of Trip Advisor.
Gay Bars Exist as Well on Arenas Street. Hotspots Include Hunters, Street Bar and Other Fun Spots and Shopping on the Areas. Toucans is Up the Street on Palm Canyon, More for Night Owls and Evening Fun.
