The calendar of events is always filled in Mendocino. The area is host to festivities throughout the year, many of which celebrate the sights, sounds and of courses tastes of the region. This includes Solfest each August, a celebration of the sun, which offers healthy food, music and is centered on renewable energy and green products.

Food is a common theme throughout much of the year and in August it is the time for the Fisherman’s Harbor & Seafood festival, which includes the “best smoked salmon on the coast,” as well a nautical-themed flea market and… plenty of seafood! You can come hungry and leave satisfied.

And in October the month long Good Ol’Time Harvest Faire is in full swing, complete with hayrides, more music, grape pressing and a whole lot more food. This being wine country November is the time for the Wine & Mushroom Festival, while January is the time for the Crab & Wine Festival! They do like to eat in Mendocino!

Music is also popular and there are several big events including the Mendocino Music Festival in July, which includes big band concerts, chamber music as well as world and folk music throughout the village and surrounding area. And in November is the annual Symphony of the Redwoods. It first began in 1983 and has become an annual event!
