Fresno is blessed in the “day trip department” for it is half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles and close to Yosemite National Park. Here are a few additional day trip suggestions from TripAdvisor Members:

Member #1: “You could go to the Wild Water Adventure water park in Clovis which is right next to Fresno . . . you can visit the big trees in the Mariposa Grove or Wawona . . . [or] you can take a trip to Sequoia National Park which is about two hours south east of Fresno.”

Member #2: Go "to Millerton Lake which is only about 30 minutes north of Fresno. You might also enjoy river rafting or canoe trips on the Kings River or the San Joaquin River--pretty areas to just do some hiking too.

Member #3: “You could take the short drive to Shaver Lake. It's a nice place to spend the afternoon. You could picnic at Camp Edison.  [Take] the short and nice drive to Bass Lake. Have a meal at Ducey's Bar & Grill. The Pines Resort is very nice and the drive through Coarsegold is very pretty."
