White Tank Mountains - Great hiking, biking, camping with nature trails, petroglyphs and scenic views of the valley that are unheralded in the western part of the valley.

Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex -  Tweny-five courts, most of which are lighted. Two racquetball courts and four table tennis tables. They have drop-in programs as well as every kind of lesson for all ages and abilities. A real "user-friendly" place wholly owned by the City of Surprise. It is managed and directed by John Austin, a former Wimbleton champion and tennis industry champion as well.

Sun Valley Parkway -  The former road to nowhere, a four lane road that goes around the White Tank Mountains from Surprise and heads South to Interstate 10. For years, nothing was ever built around the road until you were almost to Interstate 10. Now, however, there is development creeping in to the road that gave wonderful views of the desert as well as the back side of the White Tanks.

Heard Museum West - You want a Native American experience? The Heard offers everything that the Native's have made before and now. They have a museum store as well as events of all types.

Surprise Stadium - Home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. Major League Baseball in March as well as many other events planned throughout the year. Some are baseball as well as other recreation and entertainment. Surprise Stadium is across the street from the Aquatic Center (Great fun!) and the excellent Maricopa County library

Other Attractions in the West and Northwest Valley - The museum in Wickenburg about the West is superb and award-winning. The University of Phoenix Stadium (home of the 2008 Super Bowl) is an engineering marvel and well worth a tour. Luke Air Force Base is nearby and can be heard overhead as they train the best fighter pilots in the world.
